BBT is just about the only 'fiction' programme my DH will watch occasionally - though we both find the canned laughter intensely annoying. It does help him to see how NT people sometimes perceive and react to him.
I dont know anyone with aspies but I do love TBBT! I just want to point out it is not canned laughter its a studio audience.

My son 9, has apergers, and we LOVE BBT!!! and, yep, it helps him to see why some people react to him the way they do! I love Sheldon's (and my sons's!) straightforward approach and speech patterns... why fluff around subjects (the way I do!) when you can just be honest and say only whats needed!:cool:If you want to do something, you will find a way.If you don't, then you will find an excuse...:cool:0

I dont have aspergers but am a huge fan of BBT - I always did wonder if sheldon was supposed to have aspergers. The whole bunch remind me a lot of my mates at uni actually - I went to a nerdy uni! There really are people like that out there!
So is sheldon officially supposed to be an aspie? We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Well, I can see the pros of that. If you had to know an aspie in order to post on this thread, I've just spotted a business opportunity here.
For £4.99, you can chat to me on the phone for 10 minutes. You will then know an aspie, and be entitled to post on this thread.
PayPal, most credit cards, book tokens, cat food and lunch vouchers accepted.0 -

Sheldon is not officially an aspie, but quite frankly, I think it would be difficult to argue that he's not a duck.
My pet theory for the plot is that he's just never been diagnosed0
