Microsoft Office 2010-Outlook not downloading emails

Hi
I upgrade Microsoft Office from 2007 to 2010 today.
Since then my Outlook hasn't (won't ) download or send any emails.
My accounts are all there.
It is saying an upgrade is in progress whihch may take more than 15 mins and that service may be disrupted- its been saying that since 3:30pm
Under that is says; Upgrade Outlook Connector- which I have downloaded but no difference

Anyone any suggestions- I've very non-techi so as plain English as possible please
thanks
AJ

What happens when you attempt to send/receive emails? (exact wording of any system/error messages please)
How do I add a signature?

Next box down says 'upgrade outlook connector' has an upgrade now button but nothing happens when you press it

One below is account settings- again won't let me do anything in this box

    Any help welcome

You could use System Restore to take you back to a point before you upgraded. If that doesn't get it working you have the option of undoing the restore to being it back to the current state.

Thanks for this suggestion- have done that and outlook is now working again although 2007 version.

I bought it online from software for studnet and had it on my PC prior to having my harddrive replace last week and I forgot I had purchased 2010 version and my nephew who was sorting it for me just loaded 2007 version

Is there any advice for converting from 2007-2010 to avoid this problem.
I notice on the items avaalble for download there are actually 4 files available for download:

    Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus

Do I download them all and does it need to be in any partcular order?

Thanks very much for your help- I am at least back to where I started!

AFAIK the Outlook Connector is only used in connection with Windows Live (Hotmail/MSN/Live) email addresses. If you don't use Outlook to send/receive Windows Live emails, you don't need the connector.

The first 3 files are for 32bit machines, the last 2 for 64bit machines.

Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus 32bit
    Microsoft Offfice Communicator 2007 32bit
    Business Contact Manager 2010 32bit

Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus 64bit
    Business Contact Manager 2010 64bit

If you have a 64bit PC then you only need the Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus 64bit file.

Did you install Office 2010 over Office 2007 or did you uninstall Office 2007 then install Office 2010?

    Hi
I upgrade Microsoft Office from 2007 to 2010 today.

Methinks the word should be 'changed' and not upgraded ;)
