This reminded me of a couple of stories. When I was a child I was sitting on the pavement when a dog came past and mounted me, my Sister ran in and told my Mum that I was giving a dog a piggyback!

On another occasion, I must have been about 8 or 9, I asked Mum for a pair of scissors and she asked me what I wanted them for. I told her that I needed them to cut off a sweet that was stuck to the dog's belly :eek: Thank God she asked!

Hey everyone.

Managed to go to the BBQ today and had a good time, even though it was pouring with rain and we got soaked through. Woods are also not wheelchair friendly! Really feeling it now but it was nice to be able to socialise for a change.

Shame it rained for you, it's been glorious here, my DD got a little bit sunburnt and she was only out for 30 minutes.

It was raining in the village before we left but the BBQ was in Bristol so we weren't sure if the weather would be the same. It was.lol.

It was such a palaver finding everyone too and very bumpy and the only shelter we could get was the woods (and even then it was still pouring with rain).

I don't like BBQs as I'm vegetarian and I'm OCD about things being cooked properly but I bought a sandwich to have and it was nice to see everyone. I was getting anxious about how many people would be there (DH said 20!) as I have alot of anxiety issues but there weren't actually that many of us so it was okay.

Glad you enjoyed it in spite of the weather. It sounds like life is very difficult for you, but your OH sounds like a keeper. There aren't too many men who would be so supportive, those of us that have them really should count our blessings. I wouldn't change mine for the world. He drives me mad sometimes, but I'm sure I do that to him too

Life is hard but I make the most of it. I'm ill so much but I try to make sure that I am grateful for things and I try to have things to look forward to - even if they are only small, otherwise I'd drive myself crazy focusing on the negative all the time!

DH is a godsend. He is brilliant and caring and really looks after me. He's a keeper.

fire**fly, that horse reminded me of when we took our dd as a toddler to see a horse in a field.we were stroking him till he decided to have a massive wee then his dangly bit was hanging down and all red! (not as red as I was!)

Didn't get to beach (again) in the end. Was in bus stop then dd felt sick and it started raining so I ran home to get washing in!

Glad you enjoyed your BBQs FF and LM! Shame the weather wasn't better. It has been quite nice here but one or two nasty showers.
Managed a nice walk by the river tonight anyway.
