Hi all,
I'm back from a two month break of comping with a shiny new laptop and am now having trouble entering ITV comps.
My usual procedure is this:
1) Roboform fills out details.
2) Tick acceptance box and click Submit (note I do not enter the captcha).
3) Next time enter the captcha and submit (I do this is so that the form remembers my data.).
4) Go back (data is still in form), enter captcha, submit again.
5) Repeat this process until I've entered as many times as allowed.
What was once a long process has now become an even longer process as step 4 no longer works.
I've tried this in FF, IE and Chrome but after clicking 'Back', all of the browsers now show their own error message where the address form is usually displayed.
Is this error unique to me and my new laptop or have others experienced this in recent weeks? If so, is there a solution?
Thanks
If the error message is of the "Confirm re-submission" type then I would say this is normal behaviour.
Try
1. Fill in form completely including captcha & submit
2. When entry accepted click "back" (data should still be in form)
3. refresh captcha, type capture and press return.
4. repeat 2 & 3.
Remember you only need to enter one of the two captcha words (ie. the one that is usually not written perfectly horizontally). If you do get the "Confirm re-submission" error just click to go back one more page.0 -

When I click 'back' in FF, this error appears where the form usually resides:
Document Expired
This document is no longer available.
The requested document is not available in Firefox's cache.
As a security precaution, Firefox does not automatically re-request sensitive documents.
Click Try Again to re-request the document from the website.
[Try again button]
When I do so in IE:
Webpage has expired
Most likely cause:
The local copy of this webpage is out of date, and the website requires that you download it again.
Something to try:
Click on the Refresh button on the toolbar to reload the page. After refreshing, you might need to navigate to the specific webpage again, or re-enter information.
More information
And when I do so in Chrome:
Confirm Form Resubmission
This webpage requires data that you entered earlier in order to be properly displayed. You can send this data again, but by doing so you will repeat any action this page previously performed. Press Reload to resend that data and display this page.0 -
Hi marcofoo, a few weeks ago I switched from Chrome to FF. In Chrome, I could back space with the ITV comps, but in FF it takes me back to a blank form. I figured it was to do with FF, but perhaps not. Be interested to see what others say to this. X
Tick the acceptance box but don't type in the captcha box, then press submit.
You'll get an 'incorrect, try again' message. Now type the captcha correctly and submit. Once the entry has been received press 'back'. Your data should now show in the form.
What version of FF are you using out of interest?0 -

i find it easier & quicker to just open the page for how many entries there are ie:
real deal 3 entries
so i open 3 pages & enter that way same for 3 entries in home phone, mobile & dh's mobileplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

Thank you loads. I will try that :T Not sure which version I'm using, but I downloaded it probably about a month ago, so I would guess it's probably the latest or close to it. If I can find it, I'll come back and edit.
Edit: FF, what a simple but clever idea. That one will save me typing while counting on my fingers :T
Edit: Fanks again - version 14.0.1I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!

No probs.
Click Help at the top of Firefox, then select About. It will tell you the version there.0 -

That's the best alternative if if I can't solve my problem. Never thought of this before.

I do the same, thanks to FF autofill it's really quick. Don't put Mr M's phone number down though (unless it's for a car!) as he ignores strange numbers :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and if I enter one with his number I say "on XX date MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER YOUR PHONE!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0
