Primus scam

Has anyone else been a victim of what appears to me to be a Primus scam?
I signed up for their phone service in December - phone only - and that was fine for the first month, but then I made a mistake and called them to find out when my first phone bill was due. During this conversation I talked about swapping over to a telephone and broadband package. It sounded OK, which is what I said on the phone - no more. I wasn't at this stage aware that I was ordering anything.
Then some two weeks later, they've sent me a new router in the post but no letter/note - nothing to say 'welcome, thanks for agreeing to a broadband service and this is what happens... no word about contracts, rates, cooling off period - nada.
Then a week later O2 contacts me to say that someone had taken over my broadband line and had I given permission. I ring O2 and say no, but I was thinking of leaving. I figured it must be Primus, so I give them a ring and they say my account was activated on that very day, and that I'd agreed it on the phone a few weeks back. When I said I hadn't agreed to anything or seen anything in writing, they said I'd entered into a contract over the phone and why would they lie about it. I now know why.
Two months later I've been charged nearly £300 for two month's broadband - and I am not a heavy internet user by any stretch. This charge I have been told is because I've gone over the monthly 20GB allowance and they charge 2 per extra gigbyte. Seems as if I've been providing the whole of London with its online entertainment.
My initial complaint to them was met with a short reply - tough - that's the deal you signed up for. Ah... I didn't sign up for anything I was duped.
Do not go anywhere near Primus - horrendous experience. Next month they've told me my bill will be around £ 200.
If anyone has any similar experience, please let me know. And any tips on getting out of this would be much appreciated.

Would be most grateful if someone can show me how can I get out of primus scam please! We have signed up to a 18 month contract about 11 months ago and now we are moving house. Primus charges £59 for moving house and the contract will need to be renewed to another 18 months once the move is over. But we will move in a year's time again which means again we'll need to pay £59 and contract will be renewed to another 18 months! We are really fed up with primus and they are demanding £15.79*7=£110.53 to terminate the contract (we don't even have a written contract from them).
Can anyone give some kind suggestion please?0 -

It is not a scam.
The conditions are relevant to any ISP who does an 18 month contract.
As it's your fault for not reading the terms and conditions you simply need to pay up to end the contract with them and choose a ISP who only does plans which are as long as your tenancy agreement.
Yes this does mean you cannot get the very cheap deals instead you have to look for deals that are 6 or 12 months long.
BTW there is no legal requirement in England to have a written contract as verbal contracts are legally binding. However most companies will send you a copy of the contract terms, or point you to their contract terms if you ask them to.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
