Your broadband speed relies on a lot more than just the speed that your modem syncs with the exchange. Your figures show that the sync speed is 5056K but this is not the speed that will experience when using it. The actual speed is affected by other computers on your home network using the broadband at the same time, other broadband customers on the BT exchange using broadband at the same time, your BT IP profile, the load on your ISP servers, and bandwidth throttling that takes place by your ISP, the 'speed' of he internet between your PC and the site running the speedtest software...
For a sync speed of 5056, you will get a Data Rate of 4000 which is basically the maximum rate that BT will allow you. This can be quickly reduced if you experience problems and once reduced, it can take up to 3 days to get it back.
Have a look at http://www.kitz.co.uk/ for lots of ideas and info.

Your receive noise margin of 6 db is very low. Try unscrewing the master socket faceplate and connecting your router via the test socket behind it.
This will eliminate the effect of any extensions you have wired to the faceplate.
Then back to the advise of the above poster.
Good advise here also

I also agree with JohalaReewi - however with your sync your throughput should be a bit higher.
Just as a quick check - do you have 1 microfilter fitted to every phone socket that is in use? Having an unfiltered device or faulty filter on your line will cause your speeds to be slower and/or disconnections. Here is a link to an article (which, ahem, I wrote) that troubleshoots for 'speeds up to 8Mb' .
Enjoy the weekend!
