Body odor issues with member of staff

the smell being BO, or a stale old BO one could indicate a faulty washing machine.
I say this from experience as a few years ago, despite washing my work clothes after every wear, they'd have a lingering stale BO smell left in them when I put them on as 'clean'. I was hyper aware of it, I'm sure my colleagues would have been aware of it as well - my solution - bought a new washing machine (old one came with the flat), washed same clothes - smell vanished.
I did then gradually buy new clothing.
I would add, whilst aware of the smell, I was washing myself twice a day, dousing myself in pleasant smellies and trying to mask the sour stale smell - which probably in hindsight made the situation worse.0
