Don't touch quick fit they failed my car for brake pads and Discs, wouldn't of minded but they were less than a month old, use at your own peril

You see if you had used Kwik fit to supply & fit these parts originally, you would have been fully covered by their lifetime guarantee.

But as you presumably had them fitted by some other cowboy outfit, then it's, as you say, at your own peril

Or there was nothing wrong with them.

I used kiwk-fit for a few years as their MOT and service package was so cheap. I was put off by the reviews to start with but the service I received was excellent. They didn't push anything on me, gave me a call to tell me my front brakes were low (which I knew anyway) and where fine when I told them to leave them alone. All the work appeared to be done as well.

I didn't use them this year as I had a mechanic round who gave me a free service with his repair but otherwise I would.

I think it depends on where you are though, some certainly seem dodgy, but then again so are some local garages.

I use Kwik Fit for some jobs and haven't really had issues with them. Staff at the local centre are pretty good. They have always been to the point with advice and competitive on price.

That said while I've been in the waiting room I've seen zombies walk in off the street and blindly agree to pay the first quoted price without bothering to shop around or seek a second opinion.

Went in for tracking adjustment, no one in right mind would use for anything else.
Had exactly the same before all this came to light over the years.
Seen kid approach his gaffer had a chat then came back to me. "Sir come with me, you are going to need new front discs, new calipers and pads be about £650"
Answer straight back, i know i have just fitted that lot done 5 mile here and not bedded in yet.

Ring round a few more garages.

Even £250 from the local garage for a service sounds excessive to me.

Service is roughly, oil, filters, spark plugs. Say about £60 in parts, about an hour if that to do it.

Inspecting cars efficiently requires a lot of equipment, which your local may not have. I would use Kwit-fit.

    Eh?

I don't think MoT testers have a choice whether to have the required equipment or not.

    Not too far off.

EuroCarParts has filter at £5, oil at £30 for the mid range stuff in a five litre bottle, £10 for the plugs and £5 for the air filter, postage is free. You could do most of it yourself.

MOT will be about £50 so you are paying for three hours labour to change the oil? Bit steep unless there are a whole host of other things being done.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
