First off, I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in - considering the deal I thought it was the best place for it.
So I've never signed up for Sky or Virgin but noticed their cashback rates have been climbing so decided to look into it.
I've noticed TopCashback have an exclusive £143.92 for new customers. This ends in 5 days.
I had a look and you get a choice of three packages which are all average priced (the reason I'm posting about this is the cash, not the value). So I signed up for the second one and found the details for the 28 day guarantee.
I confirmed this both via the call centre and an online agent who said I have 28 days from installation to cancel and will not face any fees and will be totally free from contract.
With this in mind I also have a BT Phone line which I will not be taking out and I have every intention of cancelling the service within 28 days. This seems a good way to get a decent amount of free cashback. Anyone else doing the same?

I forgot to add, I checked the terms and conditions for the cashback and have looked everywhere for any anomalies. It explicitly states it is to new cable sales. As long as you follow through with the installation and cancel within 28 days then you shouldn't have any problems?:j Amateur bargain hunter :j0

Are you abolutely sure that your 'cash back' won't be confirmed and you'll end up with no cash and won't ever be counted as a new customer for any further offer in the future.
BEWARE :eek:0 -
cash back takes around 3 months to be paid and even if it is tracked they can cancel at any time i purchased a hoover through comet and sent it back as it was crap basically cash back was only about £4 and i hadnt done it for this purpose but it had tracked and and after around3 months it came up declined
so chances are it would be a heck of a lot of hassle for no reward0 -
just to confirm this is the stats:

I suspect you won't be eligible for the cashback if you cancel the service. Granted it says cashback is payable on installation, but I think that means you are considered eligible once its been installed. The cashback will probably be confirmed, but then withdrawn later. One of the rules is: "Virgin Media cashback is available through Top CashBack on genuine, tracked transactions completed immediately and wholly online." As you need to ring and cancel, that takes you off the "wholly online" requirement. Payment speed is an average 12 weeks with TCB, six months with Quidco - plenty of time to realise you've cancelled.
You might get it, you probably won't. Seems a lot of hassle to go through to find out. Remember they'll need to drill walls to install their equipment...0 -
Average stats doesnt mean it will, orange mobile broadband takes 3 months, its stats show less. op its a none starterDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

To the OP - you obviously didn't read Topcashback's Terms and ConditionsWhen we have traced a paying, applicable transaction to your account, we will credit your account with a ‘pending payment’. Once the retailer confirms the transaction, the payment will be marked as ‘confirmed’ – this can take 30 days or more from the date of the purchase. If the goods are returned or the sale reversed or amended by any means then the cashback payment will not be made.0

Actually you complete the transaction wholly online by taking it out online. Phoning or writing to cancel is not part of this.davemurgatroyd - "To the OP - you obviously didn't read Topcashback's Terms and Conditions"
Actually I did, and it does count.
The sale is not being reversed or voided. In fact it is a genuine new sign up. There is nothing wrong with the transaction and the cashback is a genuine incentive to entice new customers. I am signing up as a new customer however if I am not totally satisfied I am free to cancel within 28 days and still claim the cashback in line with the terms and conditions.
Please re-read :j:j Amateur bargain hunter :j0 -
I know this topic is old now. I just wanted to update that not only did the cashback confirm, it has now been paid.
Using these offers, following the terms and conditions explicitly laid out for that offer, does work.
It is true though that cashback is not guaranteed, it's still worth a try though?:j Amateur bargain hunter :j0
