Incorrectly quoted reg number on PCN

I got a PCN at the weekend and on looking at it the warden has quoted my reg number incorrectly - there is a '9' where there should be a '0'.

Does this make it invalid? I notice they have also quoted my tax disc number (although I haven't checked whether that's been quoted correctly) and all other details are correct, car make, colour etc..

Can I wriggle out of this one?

Incorrect reg number is fatal to a PCN. Other details are irrelevant.

Is this a council ticket? If so then what Tilt said.

If not, then different advice is required.

Wow speedy response. So do I just ignore it then? I actually live in the road I got the ticket so they could easily track me down

That ought to be fatal then. Wait for the Notice to Owner, with any luck it'll never arrive.

As said if it is a council ticket and you have checked this it is a waiting game.
If not paid they will send notice to owner, if it never arrives then thats the end of the matter, if it does and they have changed the 9 to a 0 its off to the parking adjudication where if your notice clearly says a 9, not a badly written 0 then thats it overturned.
If you get the NTO, you need to make a FORMAL appeal to the council on the grounds that the contravention did not occur as the ticket was incorrectly issued .

In addition to what Vax said... Keep the original PCN so you can show the adjudicator if it goes that far. If you appeal to the NTO (if you ever receive it), only send a photo copy of the PCN.

Thanks...this is all interesting stuff. The PCN has been printed not handwritten so there is no doubting what figure is quoted. I will keep the original PCN.

IDon't the wardens take photos of cars?
