Mine is similar to the argos one,in black without the storage underneath. It's a lovely bed but my Beagle chewed on the foot end and me and ex had a habit of breaking beds:rotfl: Still using it at the mo after a temporary bodge job but have a replacement ready for when I move (have a thing about wanting to keep my new bed for a new bedroom, bless me LOL)
Your best bet is always to check beds out in real life first, but it's not always possible and bargains can be missed!
Can't offer any advice on which one to go for,but cheaper ones can often be cheaper for a reason. For example,my leather sleigh bed had a very weak central support leg underneath which not only ended up falling off (activity on the bed probably helped with loosening it tbf)but bent away from where it was welded to the rectangle with the bolt holes in.Then one of the sides of the supports ripped out of the frame.
So,that probably wasn't particularly helpful to you,but you often get what you pay for with things.
Someone else will probably be able to give a more helpful reply:o
PS I do like the ottoman bed though,I love the idea of them just not sure what the support for the slatted base is likeIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
thanks it the argos bed is worth for the price?0

Ottomans are great for storage but they're not exactly designed to keep your socks in more bulky items like spare towels, bedsheets, bags etc that you don't use often.0

thanks guys, can some one comment on the pricing please

I would want to see what the middle legs are like before buying it I'm afraid. We bought one similar and the legs just gave way in the middle. Took it back to shop, got middle legs replaced, put anti slip mats under the legs, still gave way. Basically the legs were rubbish. We then changed the bed to another similar one but the legs were of a much better design and have had no problems with it. The other one, has had the metal frame rebuild with a wooden frame that my fella made and gave that bed to my teenager.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

You should really try a mattress before you buy it. Memory foam can be quite hot to sleep on.0

Just looked at the ottoman beds, seems there isn't a leg to support the middle of the bed. That's exactly where mine broke, albeit with inferior legs, I think the same might happen with no legs.
Have a pic of it somewhere, to show u what I mean. I'll try find it:)4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Neither our bed or or the spare ottoman from Ikea have middle legs. The ottoman has really quite sturdy bolts holding it together like an axel to spin on and has a big lip at the foot to rest on. So long as the metal frame doesn't twist it's not going anywhere and has bowed wooden slats to give a bit of spring.0

I'd try and avoid legs like these ones, especially if you have laminate down. As you can see from the bend, I'd probably avoid the ones with no legs either. Can't show you the legs on the other bed, but they are much more supportive than the ones shown in the pic.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Nice to know that Jayne, guess it depends on how sturdy it is, as you can see, mine wasn't4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
