I feel like I am reading a doom and gloom novel whereby an illness or disability means end of life as you know it here :(

Many can and do work, many will work again too, fact is those with no skills, qualifications, careers or ability to start their own business will find it harder, but that's pretty much the same for those on JSA, as once travel to work and costs are taken into account along with lack of full time, good jobs, its all they can look forward too.

Like I said, not everyone with a disability is the same.

Of course in my situation I hope to work in the future and get better but how realistic that is remains to be seen. Right now i'd settle for a diagnosis and a semi effective treatment. Work, a life generally and independence are the ultimate dreams for the future. Don't think I dare even hope for a husband or a family that would be asking too much!

it can, as good as, mean the end of your life if financially, you cannot affird the help you need to function in as near a normal way as possible.

Depends on whether they sit in the cannot do as opposed to can do corner, how many jobs have you applied for recently?

Some people seem to spend more time in the "they are being negative" corner than the "they are just being realistic" corner

Realism is only true when you try and fail, if you don't try it's defeatism.

it is so easy to say what you could or couldnt do when youre not in the position to have to prove it.
just in the same was that IDS said he could live on £53 a weej ;if he had to'

when a disabked oersib ( not me because u manage ij) lives alone and see's their financial security being removed a few pounds at a time....
many are having services cut and are really starting to struggle.

that isnt the position i am in, though things are very tight, but a lot of people are more severly disabled and much more isolated.
i don't ;ibve by the mantra 'i;m ok and sod everyone else'!

I know of at least 3 jobs recently you could have at least applied for, did you?

I see what you're saying, and where you are coming from.

But I came across a job recently I could have applied for; but was realistic enough to realise I could not follow through performance wise if I got it. Was very tempting though until I was realistic about it. I know my limits better than anyone after all.
