Maybe I'm classed as high risk because of the 20k @ 9.9% I have with m&s

So why the strop with Lloyds with an apr of 23.9 percent. If as you say you enjoy a limit of this magnitude would you want to carry debt over on the Lloyds card. Perhaps it is because you up to your limit with MandS card hence the reason the apr on Lloyds is so high.

Sorry my friend now it really does not make sense to me.

    LLoyds are a pain, I am offered a high overdraft & loan repayment ( £400pm )

But the credit card was always a big problem.

M&S I have had for 7 years. paid in full every month. Credit limit higher and higher every few months.

Apr fell to 9.9% due to staff rate.

I am also interested to know you defiantly have the Avios Duo card previously Airmiles Duo? on the lloyds website it states 15.9% typical apr. And as stated the only reason the apr with lloyds is 23.9 was due to the application form they pulled out the back.

Not to worry lloyds are on the case I raised a complaint

    Great.

Just had a call off lloyds to confirm it was a mistake the APR and it will be lowered. they also offered me a goodwill payment.

    APR now set to 15.9

    Very happy

Excellent news! Not quite as low as mine 11.9% for cash and purchases but you are heading in the right direction.

It is unlikley a new customer would be offered an initial rate lower than the advertised rate because there is no real benefit to the bank, if the customer was happy to apply/borrow at the advertised rate.

That said, if you already have a card with LTSB and apply for a new one, I think they close the old account but copy the existing interest rate over to the new account. So there could be people with various different interest rates that are lower than the advertised rate for their card.

I have an old Platinum card, rarely used, at 11.9% but the website advertises 17.9% to new customers.
