Hey All,

Looking for anyone with a Lloyds TSB Avios Duo Card.

I have a load of issue with applying / getting this card. ended up having to appeal a decline decision and was told the only way of getting one was to apply via paper application in branch and the decision would be changed from no to yes. the only application form the branch had was a 23.9% Tier 3 application form, i was told by PLD team i can have any card i want. 11.9 advance card to 21.9% Premier Duo.

Lo and behold the application got appealed successfully and they put me on the 23.9 % rate.

Im currently appealing the APR decision again as i was told it was typical i would be put on.

Any ideas what normal APR is for this card and does 23.9 even exist?

Thanks.

Well from my last statement it was an apr of 11.9% for cash and purchases. Promo rate is 0% etc.

However I was advised by a branch of Lloydstsb last week my rating is top notch.

Also it is the same card they are charging you 23.9% for.

My Rating is also top notch with Lloyds Risk Band 2.

Was able to have Overdraft + Loan but credit card has having problems. PLD overturned the decision.

I think its just a case of the only application form they had in the branch was a 23.9% one. so the " admin team " will have processed it @ 23.9%

If they pulled out a 15.9% it would have been processed at that rate.

Typical APR on the Lloyds site for the Avios Duo is 15.9%

Does the APR really matter that much? I'd hope that you wouldn't carry a balance on this card!

its more of a status thing, why should i pay 23.9 when other people get it for 15.9... etc.

Because unless you borrow on it you won't pay any interest? The APR doesn't appear on your credit report or anything and I can't imagine you'll be disowned by your friends for having a card at 23.9% APR.

but how about if i did want to keep a balance on the card? for a " few "month or so.

Its going to cost me more than it should.

I always pay my cards off each month except for promo offers. However I would feel annoyed knowing someone has the same card and there apr is
    less than yours.

    All to do with risk.

They operate risk based pricing - originally they turned you down so to get the decision overturned is pretty lucky and they obviously think you're a higher risk than most of their customers. I'd just make sure you clear it in full every month.

Incidentally my Lloyds TSB Avios Duo Premier card is 13.9% APR (ignoring the annual fee) ;)

So my APR at 11.9% for cash and purchases is quite competitive.
However as someone has already said if you clear the balance each month it does not matter what apr they award you.

However I only have a low limit of £15k so probably explains low apr.
