Pay off contract early....PAC code

Hi all

If I choose to pay off my contract early am I still entitled to have my PAC code to take my number elsewhere ?

Virgin mobile say not

    There should be no problems if you pay the Early Termination Fee (= all remaining months upfront). Of course, number has to be ported before the account is closed.

    If you were told differently, it was likely to be one of numerous incompetent idiots very common in CSs.

    That said, according to Ofcom, they cannot refuse you giving the PAC even if you have outstanding charges to pay: Can my mobile provider refuse to give me a PAC? However, this is one of many their teeth-less regulations that they are incapable of enforcing.

    yes. I just did the same thing but with 3. They didn't want to give it me but they did in the end!

    Tell Virgin not to be silly, as correctly stated above you can request (and should be given) a pac at any point in the contract, in theory you could ask for it on day 2 of a 24 month contract, you'd get a stonking bill through though!

    Ask to speak to a manager if you don't get any joy. Or just hang up and redial.
