If that is the real reg plate I would block it out sharpish - someone will clone it.

Blimey - I can see 50 number plates in the car park below my office - should I contact all the owners and tell them to block out their plates :rotfl:

Far too easy for someone to take this number plate, and clone it on their vehicle so all of a sudden you have someone else's parking tickets and speeding fines coming through the door!

ETA: I have my phone number in the phonebook for all to see, yet I still wouldn't put it on the internet ;) Ditto with my address, everyone walking past my house knows where I live but it's daft to put my address on the internet!

    Oh, and to the op:

I had someone who used to block my car in, a shared parking courtyard. He would always apologise and move the vehicle but I ended up having to add 5-10 minutes to every journey, to make time for the guy to move his car for me.

So I sympathise, a fence seems the best option. Or could you buy a white spray paint and paint on a line?

If it is a proper shared drive then NOBODY should be parking on it. If you want to park in front of your house then get rid of the green stuff

I refer to my original post - the information is already in the public domain and anyone with an ounce of common sense doesn't need a random pic on a completely unconnected internet post to clone a car. If I really wanted a reg number for a black fiesta I can see two on the road outside and there are c.2,500 on Autotrader

    It's un-needed paranoia

Whatever happened to 'better to be safe than sorry'??

I better start leaving my front door open, the chance of a burgler targeting my completely unconnected building on the off chance it may be open is so small.

We're not doomed if we take simple precautions such as locking front doors and not broadcasting our licence plates. ;)

put a fence down the middle

I don't know what is written into the title deeds for the OP's property, but I also used to live in a property with a shared drive (wouldn't do it again though), and although one half of the drive belonged to each household, there was a clause stating that the whole drive had to be left clear to enable vehicles access into and out of the garage owned by each house.

With a fence down the middle, it would have been just about impossible to maneuver in to the garage.

We're not doomed if we take simple precautions such as locking front doors and not broadcasting our licence plates.
Locking doors is common sense (and failure to do so can invalidate insurance), but how can you stop anyone from seeing your numberplate outside your house, at work, whilst driving etc.

Thankyou - common sense prevails - I was beginning to think I was existing in some weird parallel universe
