Thanks everyone. I will have to get a prepayment as I don't have any life saving medication such as insulin and hubby works so although money is tight we are not quite on the bread line. Will take a look and set one up for the next lot of drugs.

I get free drugs as I am diabetic drug controlled - does not have to be insulin, can be any drug prescribed. Just not diet only controlled. I also qualify for my other illness which is Myasthenia Gravis. And I'd be paying out well over £90/month as well. And that is just for current med's. These can and do change get add ons for all kinds of stuff.

And the best part about the DD 12 month option is you pay £10.40 over 10 months, and so have two payment free months0

Thanks again. Have arranged for a prepayment certificate as it will cost a fortune without. Have opted for the monthly dd as I couldn't afford the other options, nice to have the two payment free months as well.

This will cost nowt but a stamp to try, you can get a 'HC1' application form from Jobcentre Plus / NHS hospitals / your doctor, dentist etc. If you succeed you will get one of these.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I think I will get a HC1 as I can't walk very far on my own and need someone to push me in the wheelchair so I might be eligible. As you say it's only the cost of a stamp. Thanks for the help and info.0

HC1 looks at income, the ones we have in our store (I'm an optician in Scotland) are in pre-paid envelopes so it's free to apply but they won't take into account your walking ability, just your household income.0

- you are welcome, its income based, but a considerably easier 'hoop' to jump through than the alternativesDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. HC1 forms have 2 outcomes- HC2 (full help with NHS costs including free prescriptions) and HC3 (partial help with health costs, no free prescriptions).0
