Is someone stealing my fuel oil?

Is it possible someone is stealing my fuel oil? Over winter I thought it was just our higher usage... but now its still falling rapidly, we've had a check for leaks (thats all safe) but a mate recons someone is stealing it - how hard is it? It's locked and doesnt seem to be tampered with. I dont really want to waste police time!

It's difficult to say really.
Is it possible for you to rig up a cheap webcam to watch over it while you're out? It'll cost you about £20 all in but could save you a fortune....A pair of 14kw Ecodans & 39 radiators in a big old farm house in the frozen north :cool:0 -

Buy a stand alone motion sensing alarm and stick it somewhere close. If it's not been set off, and hasn't run out of batts, you know you're OK

I live in a rural part of Scotland with no neighbours so we have a padlock on our tank as there have been cases of Oil stolen from farms and country centres.
You say your tank is locked so if the lock has not been broken then maybe you are just misjudging how much fuel you are using.0
