Recommend me a family car?

If you're happy with the Corsa why not move up to a Vauxhall Astra? Great little car, reliable and relatively inexpensive to run. You really do have a lot of choice in the matter however, there are loads of options as you can see.0

How about a Honda Jazz? My parents have one and it is quite spacious with a large boot and the seats fold right down at the back so the car becomes more like an estate so that you can carry bits of furniture in it.
It seems to be economical, not sure about the road tax though. Must admit that I do cast envious glances at it because I have an aged 3 door Toyota Yaris.0 -
Love my little Peugeot 207. Good for me, my husband and our 8 year old.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

We've got one too but ours is a 3 door, although I know they do 5 door. Good reliable wee car and doesn't cost much to run.0 -
Another Peugeot fan here (307) - it's easy to drive, light handling and comfortable. Really a delight from day to day.

I love my Nissan Note. It's a comfortable drive, easy to park, and has enough room for my family - kids age 21, 14 and 12.
The boot is large and is separated with movable boards. The boards are level with the lip, so you can store things below the lip without them being damaged by things above the lip. Hope that makes sense! To try to explain it better, I can put bread in the lower part of the boot and heavy stuff on top of the two boards, without squashing the bread.
The Note can accommodate my son's wheelchair with ease, but still leave enough room for the shopping.
There are also some good storage ideas. The one I like the best is the way the front passenger seat lifts up to reveal storage below. I keep a spare nappy and wipes there, but the chap at Nissan told me it is a popular place for ladies to keep their handbags when driving, for safety, as they cannot be snatched from the seat at traffic lights.
I'm on my second Note - as it is a Mobility car, we have to change it every three years. My next car will almost certainly be a Note, as it siuts our family needs so well.0 -

I've got a 5 door, had a 3 door Nissan previously and it was such a pain in the bum! Would never have a 3 door again. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I recommend the Skoda Octavia diesel too. I'm on my second one and I love it! I drive at least 500 miles per week and easily get 60mpg. Very reliable and massive boot. I was told it's basically the "Passat" with a Skoda badge and much cheaper!
We have one of these and it's a great car - OH drives a lot and says it's the best car he's ever driven. We've also been told that they're VW's in everything apart from the badge!0 -

They are indeed made by VW, I learned to drive in a Skoda Fabia 1.8 TD and it was a great car to drive. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
stick with the Corsa, but go for the 5 door diesel version... mine costs just £30 a year road tax, and a full tank of diesel, about £55 gets nearly 400 miles.:cool:If you want to do something, you will find a way.If you don't, then you will find an excuse...:cool:0
