Has anyone got MBNA to reduce the BT fee?

Our MBNA card has the biggest credit limit out of all the ones we hold (over £15K) and we've been loathe to get rid of it simply because of that reason.

It doesn't carry a balance now and we've just been offered a new 0% promo but the BT fee is 5%.

It's been 5% for a good couple of years now and we did ask once before if they would reduce the fee but they refused.

We wont ever be BT'ing if the fee stays at 5% so are considering just closing the account.

Just before we do, I just wondered if anyone has had luck with MBNA reducing their BT fee or are they playing hardball across the board these days?

0% for lets say 20 months and you want a reduction on fees. I hope the bank will make some little profit of you.

to answer your question. I have not heard of any case where the fee has been reduced.
    I owe £3233 @ 0%

Not sure where you're getting the 20 months from.

This isn't a new account. Are you looking at MBNA offerings now or are others with existing accounts getting 20 month offers?

As I said above, the fee has been 5% for at least a good couple of years.

Promo offers have been for 6 months (mostly and 12 months (occasionally).

Well if its any help I checked my BT offers and the rate is 3.5% and 4% transfer into my bank account. A few years ago I did get them to give me the fee free of charge on the usual 0% deal.
