JSA - unable to sign on this week, what to do?

Couldn't find a suitable answer on t'interweb.
Basically, I am due to sign on this Wednesday but am away for two days for a couple of assessments for a personal training course that I've been doing. Firstly, to avoid confusion, this is a part time distance learning course which I started whilst I was working and effectively is an evening and weekend thing so no impact on my ability to be available for work. To date, all of the assessments have been on a Saturday, however the final two are taking place on Wed and Thur, meaning that I'll be unavailable for work for these two days.
Any idea what I need to do? Had it not been sign on day, I'd just go assuming that no work or interviews fell on those days but as it's a sign on day, I'm not sure what to do. I know some would just 'pull a sickie' but that will probably involve loads of paperwork. That said, telling them my situation will probably involve loads of paperwork and signing off and on again.
Any thoughts?

The best thing to do is ring your JC and ask. You may be sanctioned for a week, there shouldn't be a need to sign off.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

Thanks..
'Sanctioned' for a week? I'm only unavailable for 2 days, though.
I know, but not sure how it will work. I know some people are sanctioned for a week when they do not turn up on signing on day.
I doubt the course you are doing will be a good enough reason in their eyes for you not being there to sign on. It's better to go and discuss it with them though, rather than not just turn up.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
they will still take a weeks payment if your reason isn't satisfactory, but i think in your case it would be, they probably get you to send a letter.
Phone and try get the sign on date changed today or tomorrow sometimes they do that.0 -
Hmm. I'm thinking of making it a 'sick day' in that case. I'm doing a self funded, part time course to ENHANCE my chances of getting employment and they may punish me? Ridiculous.0

That may be so, but at the end of the day, you are receiving Job Seekers Allowance (the clue is in the title). On these two days, you are not available for seeking work whichever way you look at it."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I fully accept that, please show me where I said otherwise.
TWO days is also a clue; unavailable for two days, available for the other five therefore why should I lose 7 days, and not 2?0 -

Madness, when you are trying to get off welfare instead of being one of those claimants who use welfare as a lifestyle choice.
I've just googled this and the 5th post from the CAB(?) has the JSA rules on sickness. The post is dated february 2011.
