    Morning All
    Welcome cleggie and orange sox:wave:
Has been raining here all morning (still is) :(
I am so glad DH and DS managed to get the garden sorted yesterday (Well most of it because DS forgot to sort the front border out and the grass is knee high there
I was going to town because I have a prescription to pick up, but I am going to stay in the dry I have enough of that particular drug until next week, so no hurry really.
DH is taking me to Hemel Hempstead tomorrow so I am looking forward to that, I must remind him to get the little scooter battery in so that I can charge it up .
OS wise today I think that I will make some bread and get dinner ready for about 2.30pm (DH works until 8pm and I find that is just too late to eat) and as DS is home today it will get the main meal over and done with. DD is at her BF's so I don't have to worry about cooking for her. I think that I will make a cheese pie with mashed potato and beans.
    Marie positive vibes darling (((((Hugs)))))
JackieG I hope that all is well with you and yours x

Hello everybody and hugs to all in need.

Well weekend was....the weekend.... not much to report really.

Bought some chicken wire to stop the cats but not put it up yet although the cat scarer seems to be doing something.... the other day I saw one with it's head through the privet just watching, any further and he sets it off. I should be out there doing some gardening but there's a poorly pigeon that's been hanging around for a few days now on and off so I don't want to stress it by going out there and it thinking it has to move. It's on it's way out anyway so I can at least let it got quietly.

Missed the ebay free listing as I hadn't got my photos done in time etc - must make an effort to have them and the "blurb" written otherwise listing 30 is a big job :(

Managed to spend not a lot this weekend on the shopping so might be able to get to the end of the month okay.

Had some good news on the PhD front as somebody from a website has offered to let me borrow loads of their DVDs as long as I write about the said films for the site. Result! Also been offered the chance to go to a festival for free if I sign up to pick up litter afterwards..... still thinking about that one as it's August and we don't know what we'll be doing then.

Apart from that not really much to report. Oh OH managed to smash the mirror in the hall on Saturday morning so he took me to Dunelm Mill to buy a new one - a while £10 and then he actually fixed it on the wall (if he'd done that like I asked with the other one etc,.....) Actually I think it looks better than the old one and we've got the frame for that for one of my cross stitch pictures....

I have no idea what dinner tonight it. Probably veggie burgers and salad as we have lettuce needs eating up. Not had much work today so I'm going to try and get some writing out of the way. We're even up to date with the washing  And I've even written the letters on the PC keyboard and then put clear varnish over them... been meaning to do it for ages. I must admit that on a couple of letters the ink has "run" but TBQH as long as OH can read the letters that's fine. :D

Right off to see if any work has come in - probably not. If not I will go and find something else to do like putting stuff away of cleaning a bathroom.... yay...... :rotfl:
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Beautiful sunny morning here, doesent it make you feel better, well it did until I had a good look at the garden, weeds have loved all the wet stuff and have taken over.

Oh well did clear a few of them, did notice raspberrys are really loaded this year so theres that to look forward too, but lost a lot of strawberry plants and a clump of rhubarb due to cold wet.

Hugs to all that need one.

Normality strikes, and I'm back to meeting myself coming back iykwim.School run first thing then assembly to see DGS Mikey get his gold award for being best in year three for behaviour ect (very proud Granny time :))Then Book Club, which was brilliant apart from two ladies argueing about the relative merits of islamic culture.Peace restored along with a cuppa and a couple of custard creams (we're supposed to be enjoying the books not falling out over them.
Then I whizzed up to DDs to let the dogs out for half an hour while I minced up the remains of yesterdays dinner for her to make a shepards pie with later after I pick up the boys from school at 3.30.I just got in and had a toasted sandwich (I shredded up some of the ham from the ham hock and topped it with some delicious cheese that I bought on holiday, it was flavoured with chilli and lime and certainly livened up my toasted ham sarnie :)Now I'm just about to have a cuppa and watch half an hour of mindless t.v. to relax before setting off again to get the boys from school and feed them a snack and make DDs said shepards pie for their dinner, with luck I'll be back home by 6.30 p.m. ready to make my own dinner .Not sure what it'll be, but I'm guessing ham-based as I seem to have lots of it in the fridge still.Maybe an omelette. Then I shall conk out in front of t.v. until its time for bed .Who ever said that retirement was a doddle obviously never has tried it:) I work a darn sight harder now rushing to & fro than I ever did when I worked full time .Still keeps me on my toes I suppose
have a good one what ever you are up to.
    JackieO xx
p.s. clouding over and trying to rain again I didn't think it would last long

If it could be arranged for me to find the lovely Tom Meighan from Kasabian with a briefcase of £50s in a tent I might be tempted :rotfl:

    Afternoon all.

Phew, the weekend was even more hectic than usual. Yesterday we had the huge service for the whole of the Island attended by the Great White Chief himself. I missed the service as I was in the drop-in, although the GWC did pay us a visit and professed himself very impressed with what we were doing. Anyway the service was a rip-roaring success and the Rev did her bit beautifully and was much praised. I fed the clients of the drop-in, cleared the decks and flowed seamlessly into providing tea and coffee for 250 people, which wasn't too bad except for washing up 250 cups, 250 saucers and 250 plates. A friend came to help me and within an hour we had everything washed, dried, put away and all tidied up. The wet teatowels are in my WM waiting for a hot wash when I have caught my breath.

Today I thought would be relaxing as it is supposed to be our day off, but we have had 4 lots of visitors and about 10 phone calls.:(

Nothing OS-wise unless you count frying up all yesterday's LO vegetables, sprinkling grated cheese over and calling it lunch.

Beth & RR: I'm with you on the clothes subject. All my summer clothes are still in vacuum bags from last year. I must get them out and see which ones I can still get into as it's only a couple of weeks till I'm off to Greece - that is if Greece is still there. I can't imagine wearing summer clothes - I've just put the heating on for a couple of hours here.:eek::eek:

MONNAGRAM, Wow you did so much over the w/end you certainly deserve a holiday. I'm sure Greece will still be there but not sure about the Euros.
I've sorted out some shorts and t's but I keep wanting to add jumpers as my brain will not accept that I wont be cold next week.

We are staying with my DB1 and SiL, we will be there at the same time as last year when we got a phone call to say my DB2 died suddenly. It would have been his 59th B/day today. I miss him so much. I've tried to keep busy but my brain is having none of it. Don't know why I should miss him more today than anyother. But I do.

DH has just taken DGD2 home so I'd best start putting toys away and fold down her pirate ship and tent as it looks like Hamleeze here.
