Stuck in a 24 month contract.

I have been with orange for about a year now and I'm on a 24 month contract. Since I've been on it (paying roughly £26) i have seen cheaper pay as you go deals on O2. Is there anyway of getting out of a contract before the end?
Thanks,
tunnag

Not unless you die or go bankrupt.

With a contract you get a free phone, with pay as you go you dont - that was why contracts cost more.

Phone Orange and cancel it. You'll have to pay for the remaining 12 months though.

Why did you commit to a 24-month contract if you weren't prepared to keep it for that long? Why didn't you get a 12-month or 1-month rolling contract instead?

because then they wouldn't have got their new shiny toy!
We all know, phone tech gets very 'old', very quickly. Which is why I always say to people, buy the best that you can reasonably afford, and try to think whether you're still going to be as thrilled with your purchase in 18 or 24 months time

You can still get a new phone at the beginning of a 12-month or 1-month contract. You just have to pay more for it up-front but often much less in total over the course of 12 to 24 months.
