Probably best to ask on your own thread or one that deals with the TMPPP. Not this one which is to do with Argos.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Just in case anybody is still fighting with Argos regarding their Coversafe Insurance, (I know this thread was started a long time ago) but I received a letter yesterday from the FOS who have now upheld my complaint and ordered Argos to pay me full compensation.
Anybody thinking of giving up on this, my advise would be don't!
Its pretty obvious that Argos think that they can get away with a standard response to everyone and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it :mad:0 -

These letters are known as CCLs. They are sent to allow the seller to start the 3 year timebar clock ticking. The format of layout is set by the regulator. It doesnt mean it was mis-sold or that you will be successful if you complain. However, timebar letters need that wording. If you think you were mis-sold then you go ahead and complain.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. hi all, i know this thread was started a while ago, but i have just today recieved a letter back from argos (home retail group) that my ppi was never mis-sold to me. at the time of taking out the card i do not recall needing ppi as i had never taken it out on any other cards or catalogue, the only time i have taken ppi out was on a loan i had. the letter goes into big detail of how the staff at the time did not provide guidence or advice about this insurance but they did send documents once it had been selected. they have also sent me my orginal credit agreement i signed which states the ppi is 95p per £100, but when i have looked at statements it is showing that it was £1.30 per £100.
i would like some information as to other people who have been refused and what do next, as i do believe i would never of asked for this or needed this placing on my account.
many thanks in advance0 -
This is not an anomaly you can complain about. When the PPI cost went up you would have been informed.samstigers wrote: »they have also sent me my orginal credit agreement i signed which states the ppi is 95p per £100, but when i have looked at statements it is showing that it was £1.30 per £100.
Since every complaint is judged on it's own merits (or lack of them) there is little point asking for other experiences with this lender. Unfortunately, you have complained that you didn't agree to the insurance and Argos have been able to provide your signed agreement showing you did agree.samstigers wrote: »i would like some information as to other people who have been refused and what do next, as i do believe i would never of asked for this or needed this placing on my account.
If you think you have been unfairly rejected you can refer your case to the Ombudsman together with any evidence you have to support it.
Your rejection letter will have details of how to do this...0 -
many thanks for your reply on this matter0

In July 2015, you told the forum that it was your Mother who had a card and you actually worked for Argos??samstigers wrote: »many thanks for your reply on this matter

Odd that you are complaining yourself almost a year later? Did you think your old employer would not have any records?0
