Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1eth May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Bright & sunny here again at the moment. I shall strip the bed & wash the bedding in a sec.
Dinner today will be roast lamb, HG new potatoes & veg.
Hubby's work was cancelled, shame about the money but at least he gets 2 full day off for the first time in weeks.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all to follow,
Its another beautiful day :j, I got so much washing washed and dried yesterday, about 5 or 6 loads :T, I have already got a towel load in this morning, and I have stripped our bed, that's ready to go in next, the wm is right at the other end of the house, so I dont need to worry aout it being too early.
DD is off to work today, I need to drop her off, so up and away early.
Dinner tonight is meatballs with spaghetti, nice and easy. I have to list more bits on ebay today as well.
We went to the garage sale yesterday, I got some beautiful bits, I bought dd a travel trunk a really old battered one, but its beautiful, made of leather and wood, dd wants one on her bedroom, the lady who owned it came out and spoke to me, she was very elderly, and told me that she was given it as a young girl of 18 when she travelled away to start her nursing training (this is the second time this has happened to me, the first was a handbag) anyhoo the lovely lady got a bit tearful, but wanted me to take it for dd, bless her .
Ok better get on have good days all xx

Up early today as I need to go to a training course for second job this morning (will have to suggest that those who take on evening work would like to have training in the evening!).
Raining this morning so good job all the washing was done yesterday, DD can strip her bed when she gets up. She was in late last night as she was at a wedding. There was a bus bringing them back into town so she asked the bus driver to stop at the end of the road as he would be passing - that saved her a taxi fare or me going out to get her.
Not sure what's happening the rest of the day, nothing planned but will need to do some shopping at some point.
Enjoy your Sundays. Take care. XX0 -
Good morning all,
A beautiful morning here today. More washing to be hung out. The line was full yesterday as well.
Have taken the dog out for a walk and the chickens have been fed and watered.
I have some ironing to do at some stage. Need to pot on some more bits in the greenhouse and also want to sow a few more bits.
Tea tonight is roast chicken with potatoes and veg.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all
RR - travel trunk sounds lovely!
Beautiful start to the day here too. I'm up stupidly early so am going to laze in bed for a bit. Not quite sure what I plan to do today. I need to do the few final bits for uni so it can all be handed in on Weds, it's just printing out and putting together, plus about 500 words to be written. I may just spend the day sitting in the garden reading, or I may go explore the cycle path here on foot, I *think* it leads to where my office is relocating so want to time the walk at some point.
OS wise - WM will go on twice with clothes and bedding, dishes put away, laundry to be put away, need to mow the lawn!
Have a fab day all

Hi Guys!
Had a more settled night last night but still feeling very tired and sluggish this morning. Nurses left about half an hour ago and will be back later.
DD has put her own washing on this morning as we had a bit of an argument last week, so told her she can do her own washing from now on and she can use the WM twice a week which I think is ample for her needs.
OH will put a load on once hers is done and hang outside as its actually sunny here atm.:eek::eek::eek::eek:
B-Cottage cheese on cracker bread
L-Chicken and may sandwich on WM
D-Beef with Yorkshire Pud, Roasts, Parsnip, Carrots, Peas + Horseradish sauce
The shower curtains need to be washed this week as it smells a little and our bedding needs changing tomorrow. Have added more funds to holiday fund and have been sent some vouchers from the Tourist Info in GY, so will sort them out and start arranging places to see and places to eat cheaply.
Hope you're all well.
