  • Hi Kaazzaa
My sister got divorced a few years ago and went straight back to her maiden name. No problem at all for her.

    Thank you guys,
Its a very complicated situation, but isn't it always !! i have contacted my local council, but until i am actually "homeless",they don't seem very helpful..but i guess there are alot of other ppl in a worse situation e.g with young children, poor health,no job...
But i will keep trying all avenues,i will survive !
You are all so kind with your advice and support :Ax

I would like to apologise to everyone ..
I completely worded my question wrong.
I have just got divorced, and have been thinking of going back to my maiden name, just a personnal thing that i have discussed with my children.I just wondered if it would change my credit report,i am very niave on these things.
I think i have made it sound like i was changing my name ,to escape my responsabilties, which is far from what i meant.
    Sorry :o
OP, you should be aware that you are perfectly entitled to use your maiden name, as technically you still own your original name, my Mother was using her maiden name for over 30 Years, and half of those she was still only separated from her Husband.

Changing your name by deed poll is relatively easy and costs around £40, it takes about 3 weeks to process, then your left informing your banks, passport, driving licence etc.

You dont need to change your name in such a way, it costs you nothing to revert to your maiden name.

    Good Luck ;)
