I would have thought that any action that you take to avoid or delay paying back your debt will only result in you paying more in the long term.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

In a word - no. Your debts will follow you no matter what you change your name to / wherever you move to. There is no escaping your responsibilities. Try talking to a debt advisor. Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

Trying to get out of debt you have built up in this way is outrageous. You know you would need to change your identity right? Not just your surname. That means changing your entire name, moving, closing all existing accounts and basically dropping off the map. A move abroad would be ideal. That is the only solid way to guarantee debt companies NEVER find you. On a side note, changing your name for the purpose of avoiding debt and not informing of former names on applications is illegal and you will be caught.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! I was not looking to change my identity..i just wondered what would happen. I not long ago divorced, and was genuinely thinking of going back to my maiden name, not to run or hide,or do anything illegal, just a fresh start for personnal reasons,( and i don't know how to go about that ).
Feel like ive asked something really bad..maybe i didn't word it right !!0 -
The reality is if you changed your surname and moved house, they would have difficulty finding you. You could only really do this if you plan on defaulting on all debt you may have and can avoid taking out any more for a few years so that they can't trace you through new applications. Basically, you'd need to go into hiding for 6 years. If you are prepared to do that, then you can do this with the result you desire.0

Yes I think it may be crossed wires. OP if you just want to change your name back because of divorce then it's easy so long as everyone is informed. Try this page it's the offical uk deed poll service page on woman's rights after divorce.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.
