    OP, if there was nothing taken why did you inform the insurance company? I know you are meant to inform the of any incident but now even if you dont make a claim your premiums could rise next year due to you being a higher risk.
    Even if you do claim, how much is your excess?

    excess is £150, but having had similar damage to a car I owned about 8 years ago, it is going to need a new outer skin on the door. The hole the barrel goes through has been gouged around - obviously to enable them to remove the barrel enough to open the door. When I got quotes for my car then (fiesta) it was £600 plus!

    £600? seconhand door £60 respay door £80 fitting £30 and £430 to spend on beeer:beer:
