Hi,

Just want to share this info...I have been orange for more than 5 years and I always got a good deals when renewing my contract. I spoke to the upgrade team today and got the following deal

HTC ONE X - Free
100 mins, 250 Text and 500 MB with orange care package for 18 months. Cost £14.50/month

I'm not a heavy user and mostly use internet through my home wireless, so I guess its a good deal for £261 anually.

The monthly cost is good for a new phone that has just been released but the value of the actual plan is probably EXTREMELY low. 100 minutes, 250 texts is nothing.

The OP said he's not a heavy user, it may be enough for him, and if so thats a pretty good deal.

If the main use of the HTC is NOT as a mobile telephone or for texting, but for use at home via wi-fi, then surely a dirt cheat basic handset on a good PAYG contract coupled with a half decent tablet bought outright with a bigger screen would represent a more useful package?

Personally, most mobile handsets are a compromise when used for anything other than email, calls and texting. Apart from the very largest handsets, the screens are just too small for serious browsing..

FYI if you cancel the Orange Care the price will come down to £8.50 a month, not sure what tariff you've gone onto though as they don't do one with 250 texts a month

    Hi,

The tariff is Canary 15.50 (18 months). I tried to cancel my orange care as I have cover with my bank phone insurance. It didn't make any big difference as it's just a pound deduction, so I thought to go with this.
