Problems With Valued Opinions?

Hi,

I've been using Valued Opinions since January and have earned about £10 per month (ie. i have £40 worth of vouchers).

Anyway, I've found them so far to be the best survey site. However, this evening I'm starting to change my opinion.

I started a Survey which they said would take 15 minutes. In fact it took 20 minutes and I answered the WHOLE of the survey (it was about internet banking) and included watching a short video. This was for 75p.

Anyway, the last few questions were the typical 'screening' question (Gender, Age, Income, Type Of Job) - Which is unusual for them because they always ask this at the start and not the end.

So I filled in the whole survey, and submitted only to be told that they had 'reached the maximum number of participants'.

I've sent a message to complain, and I know its really petty for 75p but it's the principle of wasting my time by not screening me out at the start. It's as if the company deliberatly did this so they can use your answers anyway. And i'm sure they're not allowed to do this.

Anyone else had any problems with them lately?

I've had a similar thing, not with them but with mysurvey. I did the whole survey, and got to the point where they needed my address to send a product test out to, and it wouldn't submit. So I lost the points and the choccy's I should have tested.
I sent a complaint (expecting them to at least credit the points if nothing else) and got a generic "sorry, nothing we can do."
Although it's very frustrating, sometimes these glitches do happen. And sometimes the companies make amends and sometimes they don't. I'd chalk it up to experience, and it'll probably be a one off. You're doing pretty well on a tenner a month - I never seem to get that many from them.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I'm getting a bit fed up with some of these survey sites - getting screened out at the last minute or surveys not submitting seems to happen much more often to me these days!

With MySurvey, I've, several times, finished the survey -- it seemed -- and been asked if I'd answer some extra questions on my media use. I've answered those, on what TV I watched the day before, then been told I screened out of the survey.

I complained. I didn't get anywhere, of course.

in the last couple of weeks ive been screened out of most of them but today i ran through 4 with no problem so i think sometimes we just have a run of bad luck.

like you i have thought vo were one of the best and consistent in paying out.

i will still continue to use them.

I have £2.75 pending from the last week and from what I remember I never recall this ever happening before. Worrying...

I've been using them for years and was happy, but its all changed,i answer some surveys to be screened out near the end thus giving them answers for free. Now the way i see it my time is valuable yet they think its fine to abuse me by not paying.

I seldom fill in the surveys now annoying as i got to round off my balance to £10.then i will quit.

I never do banking surveys nor anything to do with finances as thats private.

I had a good few years with Valued Opinions but was sacked earlier this year - apparently because of data inconsistencies! - I think this was because of with a couple of recent surveys for new product ideas I'd given the most negative response in all the questions (because I completely disliked the ideas) and they didn't want to have these results!

I just read this post after doing my first complaint to V.O. with the same above survey.Hopefully this is a one off and they will recompense or they will start losing many customers.

I've had this from time to time with various survey sites. I just assumed that the quota had filled up while I was in the process of completing the survey. A lot of the surveys I do take longer than the estimate. Sometimes there's a great deal of reading to do before you can choose an answer.

Had a reply from V.O. They are going to credit me within 28 days as this was a 'genuine' mistake on this particular survey and have had other complaints about it.Impressed with speedy sort out with problem by them at least.
