Well I'm really trying to make my grocerys last and get as much as I can out of them!

For lunch I had a salad, made up from the garden, and some added cherry tomatoes, and cucumber, cracker bread and cottage cheese! followed by an apple, orange and a plum. A light lunch for me!

I have a turkey leg joint (the really big ones) that I'm cooking today, I'm going to try and stretch this as much as possible, (for 2 people)

Tonight: Turkey baked with spicy cous cous, and lentils for extra protein. Plus Vegetables

Tomorrow I will use the left over turkey to make a curry, bulked out with lentils, oats, potato, lots of vegetables! and of course rice etc

I really really love Turkey Leg, so I'm going to have to really stop myself from eating the left overs before tomorrow!

I absolutley can not spend any more money untill the weekend! and even then, preferably Monday!

    Hi everyone,

I spent another £2.20 on Ice cream, last night. It's an addiction I've got, and I should buy more of it whilst doing an online shop, rather than paying extra at the co-op. I've updated my signature.

The meat for the Beef Stroganoff, has now thawed, and is in the fridge waiting to be cooked later on this evening. I've not made this for quite a while, so, hopefully, it turns out alright.

I've got my almost 3yr old grandson for a few days from tomorrow, so shall have to shop for lots of fresh fruit, sugar-free juices, etc. Thankfully, he's not a fussy child, and eats the same as the rest of us. So, no worries there. :j

I shall probably doing some baking whilst he is here, so must buy the bits I'm short for that also.

Anyway, I've very happy with how my budget is going, and am very grateful to you all for the advice, and guidelines I've found on this site.:A

Hope you all have a very productive day,

    Regards,
    Sam22 :)

I'm about to make another approved food order and my last one hasn't even arrived yet  But it's such good value and all healthy stuff I buy/make anyway... fruit smoothies, pulses, eat natural bars, tofu, anchovies, nuts etc
There's loads of good stuff going up and selling out instantly e.g., I refreshed the page, added brazil nuts to my basket, refreshed again and they'd sold out!

If everything turns up from both orders all we'll need to buy for the next few months is fresh vegetables and occasional milk/eggs :j
I will have to adjust the next three months of my spread sheet, reduce the monthly GCs to account for it.

Was just about to do my 1st order with Mr T online, but remembered that they used to do a £10 off a £50 shop for new customers, but couldnt find it. So i have posted on their FB page asking if they still do it. Hopefully they'll say yes.
Whilst doing that, i came on MSE to look for any codes, and found that their offer leaflet comes out tomorrow, with lots of codes off stuff.

So my plan is to wait until tomorrow to do the online shop, when i have heard from them via FB, and when i have the offer leaflet :)
Also going to look at the threads on mSE with codes off various stuff and see how much i can get off.

    :)

Jumblejack your cheesy herby bread is scrummy, Im not much of a cook but very pleased with my efforts, the only thing I did different was used up grated cheese that I overgrated and sprinkled it on the top of the wedges before it went in the oven lovely!!:j:j

Had a spend of £4.47 today. Shouldn't need to spend too much more - this is the last week of my 4 week GC.

  • Got some £2.79 quiches that are use by today for 10p each (when buying 2 together) so 1 tonight and 7 into the freezer. It happened because they'd been reduced to 89p, but at they were 2 for £4 the linksave kicked in and knocked a further 79p off each one at the checkout (I found this out by mistake then went back for 6 more). The linksave doesn't normally apply to reduced items in most stores and A**A usually have a note on their yellow stickers saying so, but it did in W******e. don't know if this is a one off blip or a loophole in their system but will try again on another reduced item when next in there and report back.

A £52 spend on Approved Foods for me, as we just sold our van and I went a bit mad!
