    Good morning!
    Another scrumptious day:)

We are having hm lentil lasagne for dinner today (mopped up with the last of the herby bread!)

Garden is looking better every day now. At this rate I will soon be having the folks over for a BBQ. I like everything to be totally spick and span though before I have them over.

We are making a raised bed today so that will help to provide even more bedding space.

I stained the decking yesterday and the table, chairs n benches. (I still have the stain under my nails to prove it despite having a soak before retiring for the night!)

Can't wait for the day to start. Should be a good one.

    Have a fabtastic day, peeps:)

Sounds delicious JJ! We're having chicken salad for tea tonight. All this warm weather reduces my appetite, which my waistline thanks me for :rotfl:

Is it too ambitious to try and shave off a quarter this month making it £150? I work 50 hours a week as a teacher so time is limited and while I would love to make everything from scratch my lifestyle doesn't permit it. Is it better to cut down by a smaller amount over a few months?

I am just a beginner, but I would say it depends on the sort of person you are and how you react to success (or lack of success).......no "failures" on this thread! :D

I am reducing budget by £25 per month, because I know if *I* had a huge overspend early on in my budgeting career, I would just think "blow it" and give up :o

If you are the sort of person who relishes a challenge and will not be put off by an overspend, then go for it :T

I made too much pasta so have 'dug out' a tub of pesto from freezer which originally cost £2.39p (tesco finest), yellow sticker says 23p which is much more acceptable. I will add half to the pasta for two lunches tomorrow but not sure what to do with the other half? Any suggestions?
Have a feeling this is going to be an interesting month.....

I like pesto on HM pizza :D

Just skimming the posts due to lack of time. Hope you're all well.

I'll be aiming for £200 again this month but hoping it won't be as close as it was last month!

Happychick - just remember that we're all different and we all have to start somewhere. When I first started food budgeting (before I joined this challenge), I used to spend over £200 a month for myself only. Over time, I started trying to bring this down and I'm now trying to spend £200 for me and DH. It's been a long journey! Also remember that our budgets also include different things, some people include dog food, toiletries, cleaning products and alcohol whilst others don't so, personally, I don't find comparing budgets very helpful.

Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this. I'm trying to shop more at Mr S. and have been getting till spits every week. Initially they were £4.50 off if you spent £30 then £3 if you spent £30 but I didn't get any when I spent £30.87 (after £3 off) yesterday. Does anyone know they work?
