  • Jparkers Using them for years and I trust them. Very good prices. There mini plugs need potting straight away. Any problems ring and they always very accommodating.
Wilko's half price on dahlias (may still be some left)
Morrisons cheap perennials and climbers, half dead plants reduced that need a good soak.
  • Without doubt use B&Q or possibly Homebase. I blog about the bargains I pick up - although I've been told I can't let anyone know the blog address - and you'd be surprised by the prices you can pay if you're willing to take a chance on some tatty looking plants that are in fact perfectly salvageable. You don't win every time but there are good deals. Similarly try pound shops - national chain ones (Poundworld, Poundland) have some good gardening bargains including shrubs, roses, fruit bushes and bulbs.

Thank you all for your reply's.
I have problems with my neighbour, jumping the fence and coming into my garden, also no privacy due to a low fence front and back ,so I had to buy the Laurel to try to establish a green solution as quickly as possible, because it is causing me a lot of stress, and I can't afford a high fence.

I have also had to purchase netting and tent pegs to make a makeshift half tent to discourage neighbour jumping fence and landing on my plants.

I will investigate the suggestions, you have all made thank you.

I am not really panicking its just I am motivated at the moment and have to act when I feel motivated before I just give up.

Haven't felt like touching the garden for the last five years or so.
Guess I am now feeling a bit impatient :D:o

    Freecycle,
    Aldi
    Lidl
    Poundland.

Our communal garden has been stocked with plants that my neighbour grew from cuttings or splitting plants. Granted it takes time for the plants to grow but it is so much cheaper.

A little plastic green house is handy for bringing on seeds.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

B&Q has 3 for 2 on all plants (ends tomorrow). This also works on reduced plants and they have plenty of them at the moment because they don't seem to know how to look after them and no-one seems to be buying bedding plants yet due to the weather.

I've just bought 144 (6 packs of 24) marigolds for only £8. These should have been £5 per tray :)

Look in the bargain bin at your local homebase/b&q. Today I got a strip of runner beans, a box of patriotic petunias and a mountain cornflower for 50p each.
I'm also a bit of a beggar for pinching cuttings from hedges and parks. I've got some very nice hedge fuschia growing from a trip to Devon..! HTH

Pyracantha...Grows quite fast, looks great, birds eat berries, will definitely sort your neighbour out given a year. Plant more than 1 if you got a space to fill and want it to cover fast.

Or berberris-I don't know how quick growing it is but you wouldn't jump into it twice. Eek!
