Parcel delivered to wrong address and signed for. What to do?

My doorbell went at about 7.30 am on a Saturday and Royal Mail stuck a large parcel in my face and demanded my signature. I signed and then when I later looked at the parcel address realised it wasn't for me, right address - wrong name. I rang/emailed RM and they didn't want to know, said they had delivered to right address etc. I had a fair idea who it was for as we had loads of wrongly addressed parcels for this person who seemed to like giving out our address.
I kept it safe for a couple of weeks and again RM turned up early on a Saturday morning with this irate bloke shouting we had his parcel. I offered him copies of emails and said I had rung and no one cared etc.
It stopped him having parcels wrongly addressed
Point is though RM didn't care who had parcel providing they had signature.
Should have told him to come back later with a different attitude!0 -
Love the way the OP starts by saying its a friend of his girlfriend then uses the words "we" and "i" throughout the posts.0

That's because the OP didn't purchase the item; a friend of his girlfriend did.
It's subsequently been lost by the PO Box company that the OP and girlfriend use.0 -

I just dont know how to approach this one, all I know is we are missing a nice shiny xbox which we were both looking forward to playing with!!
It might look that simple from your end - but you've made toooooooooo many contracts, it was only matter of time before happened - you could make it simpler by doing same as everyone else - have it delivered to your home address & if you're at work (like lot others) they leave a note and leave it at your local RM depot for you to collectWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Hang on guys, the OP states that the parcel was `delivered'. Your beef is with parcel force as a 1st point of call. ...
How did you work that out? - I read it that PF delivered to his address 'nominated PO box" and it was them that delivered it to MR wassanameWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -

I suggest you read it again then my friend..
Amazon post to PO.Box Company (prob via royal mail)
PO Box Company post to OP (via parcel force)
OP does not recieve, therefore the problem is with parcel force and the PO Box company, nothing to do with amazon at all as others have suggested.0 -

I think the purchase was by a friend but the purchase was a gift for the girlfriend of the OP.
So the OPs girlfiend has friends who spend £330 on a birthday gift:eek:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
