How to recognize an ex council house? Many of you seem to know it by just looking at it? Can u help me learn the trick? Links to some obvious ex-council properties will help!

Growing up I lived on a council estate and recently tennants had the option to buy their council houses. Many did, but after those properties were bought, the council houses left were re-decorated (don't know the correct term) so they look different to the original. I will look for a link to the street nowSealed Pot Challenge 5 #1806 / £159.18

Look for the ones with different doors. uPVC rather than Wood effect steel. No solar panels is another one (judging by the number there are locally) although you do need to see the back.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Wow what a pointless nasty little thread.0

Those would all be current council houses or stereotypes of them at least. Where I own an ex council property it can be identified by the quantaties of antipodean professionals residing in them.
Pineapple: I don't think it's the thread itself that's nasty (which I took to be genuine interest, possibly from someone not brought up in the UK), merely some of the replies.0 -
Wow what a pointless nasty little thread.
Sense of humour failure ...?
I was brought up on a council estate, and my parents still live there! Yes, some of the comments here are little stereotypical, but also very true! My first car was even an R Reg Fiesta :rotfl:
Might help if the OP explained why they want to know. In my experience ex-council properties are well built and maintained, good sized rooms and often huge gardens. Good purchase all round.
OP are you looking to buy or avoid?0
