  • Thanks Brizz. Liking the sound of the Museum of Bristol. Free = Brucey bonus. I just checked out the Brunel Buttery on Trip Advisor and think we'll be stopping in there!

Back from holiday. Had a great time and 'mostly' kept within holiday budget. What wasn't in budget will come from Family Fun Money pot for April.

Weather was mixed but didn't stop us doing anything. Have come home to fences down everywhere though. None of our panels have gone but our neighbours down one side have fallen down into our garden and the fence along the back has gone too. A fair few branches down at the bottom of the garden but easy enough to clear away.

Visited new pony share yesterday afternoon. He's so good bless him. Very happy with how things are working out.

Today is a day of gardening and chilling out. Got cottage pie for dinner followed by rice pudding. I've got to shift some lard that has crept on over the last couple of months so I'll be having small portions and not snacking in between meals for a while.

MFW plans are looking as they should. All on track and to budget.

  • April OP reported at £280.00.
Struggling a bit with time or lack of! Everything in my life is so finely tuned that if one thing goes out of kilter then I'm all over the place. So, am reducing hours slightly from next week to give me a day off work each week rather than the current day off each fortnight. I can spend time in the garden (making me happy in the process) and will also do some household chores making me more available to family at weekends. For the time being at least this seems a good option. Won't affect the OP's.

Sounds like you are doing so well :) I always start feeling hungry when I read your posts with all those yummy meal plans. Love the way you save for your holidays a year in advance - that's a good plan. Might try and incorporate another pot for that. Enjoy the bank holiday.

Thanks Chumpy. Sorry been so long since I logged on and hadn't seen your post. Kids been poorly, work been busy and I feel like I've been running on half empty for a bit. Nothing I can put my finger on but am feeling decidedly better this week.

I do like saving a year in advance for holidays. I think they're enjoyable because all paid for and nothing to worry about then! Next year is a bit more 'normal' so not as much to save up!

Hope children all recovered and well again. Soon be half term. Perhaps you will manage a couple of days off to restore your batteries :)
