Won an item on the 1st May, Paid straight away. postage was £4.50 (Was 3 pairs of childrens shoes so i thought postage was correct) eBay listing stated delivery within 7 working days.
Parcel has arrived today - Postage was actually £2.70, and although it was just within the time limit, the sender has been sending me messages with varied excuses as to why she hasnt sent the items sooner (Item sold very little i assume seller wasnt happy with it - but thats my POV)
Now, if its normally a few pence i dont query it - but the postage was £1.80 over what i paid. (i know it's only £1.80 but we are MSE-ing after all!)
What would you do?

Isnt the term postage and packing, which includes the packaging also, and getting it off into the post
£4.50 was what you agreed to pay, simple as that really.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
With the Bank holiday, delivery happened in 8 working days rather 7?
As for the postage send them an email complaining about the overcharge, they may refund you, if not & you feel that strongly mark them down on on their stars.0 -

You say you got the shoes for a good price and your happy with the items then i dont think its really worth kicking up a fuss. If you feel you have been overcharged you can reflect it in the stars you award or could contact the seller to let them know how you feel0

This is really annoying, has happened to me recently as well. I don't mind a bit extra to cover packaging and incidentals, but quite a few people take the !!!!. If I ever overcharged before they had the postage calculator tool, I would refund if it was 50p or over difference. I personally would just mark down on stars - and have done recently. Fair enough to say you knew what it was, but without knowing the weight of the item it is hard to judge. A hard lesson maybe but it's not hard to use the tool available rather than inaccurately guess or take the !!!! because you can.
RM's new payment structure will make it easier to work out if someone is taking the !!!! though, so just won't bid on anything I think has excessive postage in future.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Sorry for the delay in replying and Ty for the replies.
Yes initially i was happy with the postage as i thought they would weigh more and be sent in a box etc - they turned up shoved in one of the grey post bags. The shoes themselves were cheap, they arrived very dirty but nothing that a good scrub has sorted out (should add, these are kids shoes - brought them for dd to run about with them in park etc so she doesn't ruin her 'good' ones and yes I did expect them to be a bit worse for wear but had it of been me selling I would have washed them prior sending) . Am miffed because the seller gave me 101 reasons as to why they never posted (even though it was in the time line - I mever complained about it, they told me they hoped they would go for more)
I always refund the postage difference over 50p too. If it had been under a pound over charge I wouldn't be annoyed but i do believe £1.80 is a much
Will mark down stars - thanks x0 -
You agreed to the cost of postage so I don't see that you can complain and ask for a refund on it, it was more than you personally would add to cover packaging and other associated costs but not truly astronomical, but the condition of the items (if they weren't quite as described) speed of service and more importantly the sellers excuses are the aspects of poor service that you should adjust your feedback stars to reflect. Also most sellers these days are more concerned about getting low stars as they can get chucked off ebay if their stars get too low.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

It's a trust thing, and the seller has betrayed your trust by overcharging for postage, so naturally you feel miffed.
Either send a polite message pointing out the difference in postage paid vs postage charged and ask for a small refund, or just leave a low star rating.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
What overcharge, £4.50 is reasonable, £1.80 to get to the P.O with the time it takes and preperation needed. Don't buy it if you are going to moan about the postage, oh wait you were happy with the postage, so whats the problem. Some people are never happy.0
