You gotta laugh at the Mondeo, 55.3% pass rate for the MOT.
Lighting
Suspension
Brakes
Too many people on here believe magazine hype about that car.
Lighting and brakes? Idiot owner too lazy to check lights before putting it in for test, or notice/measure brake thicknesses, is more likely than the due to what car it is.0 -

Fair enough on the lighting, but I doubt many people measure brake pad thickness before an MOT. I certainly never have, and wouldn't know quite what I should be measuring or what it should be. Obviously if my car wasn't stopping properly I'd get the brakes looked at and similarly if a brake warning light came on, but I wouldn't be certain that would pick up exactly when the wear reaches an MOT fail point?0 -

I missed that one of my number plate light bulbs had gone. Does that count?"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect." - Mark Twain0 -

Going to be seeing a lot more of that one, given the trend for clear indicator lights these days.
The orange tint on the bulbs doesn't last forever, and far too many people replace the orange bulbs with white ones when they blow! :mad:0 -
Somebody sent me this link yesterday. An hour before my car was due for its first MoT.
"American cars also fared badly. Worst overall is the big Chrysler 300C –as driven by TV’s Dragon’s Den Deborah Meaden - with 38 per cent failing the MoT test."
Mine sailed through. The examiner said he didn't know what I was worrying about.0 -

Useful link shows you MoT pass rates for all cars. Drill down to make and model.
Edit: Oops just found out that someone else posted this a few pages back.0 -
Yeah someone posted this the other day.0

not every one knows how to. I bet you cant change a headlight bulb on a rover 74:p25% failure rate for lighting and signalling? Can't people change light bulbs before MOT test? You're supposed to check these things regularly anyway.
and most teasting stations would change the bulb for you0
