Yes! Car Credit & PPI

  • Hi I also was a victim of this con.
I actually voluntarily returned my car after having it for 2 years due to losing my job, it was sold successfully as i had looked after it (it was the best car I have ever had) i was told the usual rubbish that the loan was satisfied, then got the wonderful letter from the debt agency they use ... for £2845...... of course i rang and politely explained I had been told the debt had been satisfied, i was then asked if i remembered signing TWO parts to the agreement.... yes i said, they then said it was for the INTEREST on the loan that i was being asked to pay, i told them to take a running jump and ripped up the letters as they came. (but when i looked at the paperwork the other day it is NOT interest it is insurances PPI and MBI) My credit rating is getting hammered because of this and i was wondering if i have a leg to stand on... i have EVERYTHING to do with the transaction even the receipt for the massive £10 they gave me for my car i chopped it to get the vehicle from them.
Im thinking im going straight to a solicitor as everyone seems to be given the run around and i dont have the time or patience for it... they took my car when PPI could have been used to pay the installments until i got reemployed!!

effinycc, do as the poster above you has advised, get a claim in all you do is write a letter, you do not need to engage a solicitor at this time.

Well.... Received a letter today from Direct Auto Finance with a footer at the bottom for YES car credit. Basically it gave me the link for the FOS PPI form and asked that I complete it and send it back. Apparently once they receive this back they will fully look into my complaint.

I've completed the form and going out to post it in a bit.

The address I wrote to with my complaint is below - I addressed it to Provident and although it came back with Direct Autos details it proves they're all connected!

    Provident Financial
    1 Goodwin Street
    Bradford
    BD1 2SU

Hope anyone who was ever a customer of YES gets a resolution. We where all treated very unfairly ad intimated/forced into taking products that where an absolute load of rubbish!

    Good LUCK!!!!!!!!!

    Neets

Do you know if this is the address for all PPI claims? I have sent a letter to the address where i purchased the car and it has been returned.

I wanted to ask if you could keep us posted on how you get on.

I've been searching on how to claim back from Yes Car Credit as I too was told I had to take certain extras. 15 years ago being much younger and in desperate need of a car, I just signed on the dotted line as many people did being in similar situations. This company took complete advantage!

I still have all my original paperwork, so I will send to DAF as you suggest. All of my deposit was used to cover the PPI and other extras they told me I needed to take, so I will be requesting that the finance calculations be redone according to what my original deposit was! I was also charge 46.7% crazy eh!

15 years ago is pre-regulation. So, it will be interesting to others if you get any success as most loan brokers via car dealers do not have to consider pre-regulation complaints.

( I thought it was a finished chapter and will have shredded it...

Will any of the Claims Company's do the legwork for me?

Claims companies can't locate your shredder and dustbin and stick your shredded paperwork back together for you. They just take 30% plus the attendant 20% VAT of your redress for the price of a 62p stamp.

    Marty...
  • I have written a letter to DFA car finance to request a PPi refund for a loan/finance deal I took out in March 2005 from them, car salesman told me I had to take PPi in order to get the finance - at 24 years old I didn't question him, how stupid of me ! ended up paying an extar £63pm for the next 4 years, crazy they could get away with it !

    Letter sent to:
    Direct Auto Financial Services
    PO Box 1135
    Bradford
    BD1 9PU

Will keep you all posted !
