Yes! Car Credit & PPI

Has anyone managed to reclaim for PPI sold by Yes! Car Credit? How did they go about it and how old was the loan.
I took out a loan from them around 9 years ago. I paid it off quickly but the money for the PPI was borrowed up front as a component of the load and so I paid this off with no rebate...

However, be aware that you'll doubtless need comprehensive documentary evidence on a loan this old...0 -
Thanks for reply

I don't have any of the paperwork( I thought it was a finished chapter and will have shredded it...
Will any of the Claims Company's do the legwork for me?0 -
Definitely after a few days with the paperwork, I phoned them to try to cancel the PPI and was told I couldn't because of this having been borrowed and then paid up front to a third party (Probably owned by YES! Car Credit).0

(They will, though, charge you upwards of 30% plus VAT of any redress awarded)0 -

I have no paperwork - I think I used the word shredded. I'm also aware that Claims Companies charge a fee.
I'm interested to know whether anyone has made a claim against this company. And whether (if I value my time) I am better to hand it to a claims company with better resources and take a financial hit.
Moneyineptitude - If you have no direct experience with this company, perhaps you'd do me the favour of not diluting my thread with generalised comments.0 -

They don't do any "legwork" and their "financial resources" extend to the cost of the stamp.
Sorry if this is too "generalised" for you, but there really is little point expecting personal experience with Yes Car Credit to count for anything since every complaint is handled on it's own merits.
I now retire from your thread, never to "dilute" it again.:p0 -
No success so far. I have sent my complaint to Provident as it was a side 'branch' of their company. I'll let you know if I hear anything. I very much doubt that I will though to be honest... They where awful to deal with at the time and I doubt they'll be any better now!Why do Bee's have sticky hair??? Because they use Honeycomb... :rotfl:

A claims co will get you to find the info you need, they do not "search" for anything, the customer does the legwork and they take the hefty % plus Vat for doing nothing.
If there is a chance you can reclaim then DIY, as with a claims co you will still DIY and pay them for the privilege.
moneyineptitude was trying to help you steer clear of a claims co and rightly so in this case.
nitamcc21 looks best to help you with this, reply to that post and ask how they got the address of provident, maybe this is the route you could take, to find info on your loan you need to find the company to request the info from, this would be a starting point.

Looks like the underwriter route.0 -
Well.... Received a letter today from Direct Auto Finance with a footer at the bottom for YES car credit. Basically it gave me the link for the FOS PPI form and asked that I complete it and send it back. Apparently once they receive this back they will fully look into my complaint.
I've completed the form and going out to post it in a bit.
The address I wrote to with my complaint is below - I addressed it to Provident and although it came back with Direct Autos details it proves they're all connected!
Provident Financial
1 Goodwin Street
Bradford
BD1 2SU
Hope anyone who was ever a customer of YES gets a resolution. We where all treated very unfairly ad intimated/forced into taking products that where an absolute load of rubbish!
Good LUCK!!!!!!!!!
