Just a quick question, How much does it cost (average/roughly) to call a UK mobile abroad (in the EU) from a UK mobile or Landline?

(Is the same cost as calling itif the mobile was in the UK?)

The same as calling a UK mobile in UK.
For you it doesn't matter if it is in UK or EU or Australia.
The recepient pays the roaming price of receiving the calls abroad.

To expand further on grumblers reply (which is correct) an example of cost to the recipient of the call is as follows

Assume the person is in Spain and has a phone on the O2 network. If you phone them, they would be charged 10p per minute if they had a monthly contract and 14p per minute if they were on pay as you go.

Charges for other phone companies and locations may well vary. For more information go to their websites and search for International Coverage.

Thanks for the replies, It confirms what I thought but I wasn't 100% sure.

Where do you get the figure of 14p from? This would break the EU roaming regulation, which limits the cost of an incoming roaming call to €0.11+VAT. €0.11 x 0.87205 x 1.20 = £0.115.
