Why not buy £300 of M&S vouchers? I know people who got M&S vouchers for wedding presents who bought food for nice meals with their new hubby with them0

I get that £300 isn't what you would give, but it seems ungrateful to describe their generous gift to you as "ridiculous"! If you want to control what the money you give them is spent on then why don't you buy them a gift instead of just giving them the money? At the end of the day I think the greatest gift you could give them is letting go of this resentment towards them because any present grudgingly given with strings attached isn't going to be any fun to receive!0
