Insureandgo mobile insurance - opinions?

Hi everyone,

Looking to take out some mobile phone insurance and insureandgo seemed to offer a very good price, however low prices often mean poor service so i have been trying to find reviews for them on this site and the web and cannot seem to find much - all the reviews seem to be about their travel insurance.

Does anyone have any information on them, such as the customer service and their liklihood in paying out as i know companies such as Protect Your Bubble are notorious for inserting all kinds of terms for not paying out.

Thanks

Even Martin was promoting them once in his e-mail.
However, see my post at the end of this thread: Spill the beans... on mobile phone insurers

Thanks, my biggest concern is i am quite accident prone :o so if i ever have to claim it will be for dropping it and causing damage to be honest. The policy covers accidental damage but in the terms states the follow as part of the exclusions

"This Certificate does not cover: Any Theft or Damage arising from abuse, misuse or neglect"

That is very vague and if i do ever have to claim i'm worried they might turn back any accidental damage as misuse or neglect!

For accidental damage it is worth considering Square Trade 3-year extended warranty plus accident protection. Even for £500-600 items it costs just £75 in total.

Personally, I don't buy any insurances except compulsory ones, but I've never heard anything bad about Square Trade. Don't take my word for this though and do your research.

My elderly mother recently made a claim for a damaged mobile phone (first time in her life)

When asked (on the phone) when the accident happened she misunderstood and quoted the date of the policy - not the date of the accident (even though she quoted the correct DAY of the accident - Saturday).

The claim form was completed correctly but turned down because, during the initial phone call, she claimed the accident happened before the policy was taken out (because she misheard the question).

What monkey tries to make a claim for an incident stating a date before the insurance policy was taken out?

In the hands of the FOS.

P.S. Recently read about IaG refusing to honour a claim for a phone that was pick-pocketed - apparently the theft didn't involve violence!

    Avoid!
