Cryptochids (those with one testicle distended) should always be neutered
I think you'll find that cryptorchidism is when you have one or both testicles are retained, not distended. It might well produce a distension but that is not what the term means.
However, I agree that the individuals with the condition should have at least the offending testicle removed, as it can lead to further problems, such as cancer.0
