I really would like an i phone (the new one of course) but in spite of being a veeerrrryy longstanding customer of Orange they appear disinterested in offering a deal.
Any thoughts on what would be good if I could get it?
Only need 4/500 mins and prob 500Gb data and about 200 texts.
Quite happy to change providers if orange can't step up.
Anyone know of any comparable deals so i know what to aim for? I am currently paying about £38 per month.
Many thanks

That said, for the last models it is usually cheaper to pay the full price for the phone and to use it with a sim-only contract. However, some deals can be found for older models:

Assuming you are at the end of your contract ask for your PAC.

£38 a month is very high price for what you want. I know 3 do the One plan which includes a top end smart phone, I assume one of the IPhones is in there and I think that's around the 30 per month mark. With that you'd get unlimited data, text and a hell of a lot of minutes.

I'm on a 3 mobile sim only with data top up, costs me 13 a month with 200 minutes, unlimited text and data (should be a tenner but I pay 3 extra for unlimited data). I bought the phone myself. That may work out cheaper in the long term if you're money saving. I'm sure other large phone firms do a similar deal

you dont generally get deals on Iphones - unless you go for an old model.

Pay £500 up-front for the iPhone and get a SIM-only tariff. This usually works out cheaper over 18 to 24 months than getting a package of iPhone+service. Apart from the obvious cost saving, your iPhone won't be SIM-locked, meaning you can use local SIMs when abroad to avoid roaming charges and you will also have the flexbility to switch providers or tariffs more often.

CPW online are currently offering the 4S for free on a £32 pm contract with 300 minutes/unlimited texts and 500MB of data. Not too heavy on minutes but a decent deal IMO!
