They can only charge for 2 visits and no more. If the visits are unsuccessful and they recieve no reponse from the debtor then they return only the council tax debt to the council and any fees are now uncollectable and written off.Pay them quick as you can before they charge you more , they are the worst company you can deal with accept the 80 a month and treat it as a top prioity, i have dealt with them before and they are not nice at all and they started to charge me evry visit they made. so i paid as quick as possable
You can negotiate with Rossendales they can be a nasty company but if you be assertive and tell them you have zero money they will give up and try chasing someone else.
The current council tax bill for this year is the top priority to avoid court action on this years bill. Last years council tax arrears now become less of a priority and can be reduced to enable the debtor to be able to pay this years council tax bill first and have enough to live on before paying any arrears.:footie:

Does that mean I can charge the bailiff for storage of the car. The bailiff also took notes regarding my car. They did not get a levy. They called it a levy but I did not speak to the bailiff nor sign anything. The "so called" levy was posted through the door. The car is still on the drive. Can I sell my car? What trouble would I be in and why?I think you need to join a debt charity and get proper help urgently.
No - given the info below, you need to stop paying other creditors and clear this debt.
You need to re-negoitiate these agreements then.
In which case they have a levy and can charge much higher fees.
Once the levy was done on the car, it belongs to the bailiffs not to you. If they find out that you have sold it, you are in trouble.
You must clear this debt before they find out.
On the piece of paper the bailiffs left, it will list the fees charged.
Type out that section of the levy on here.:footie:

They can levy on a car on the drive; perfectly legal. You do not need to sign for it. And they can charge you extra fees for the privilege.
What fees have they listed on the perfectly legal levy?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
If the bailiff left you a notice of seizure of goods and inventory listing your car then this means the bailiff has a levy on your car he has took walking possession (no you cant charge him for storage)
it no longer yours to sell it now belongs to the bailiff and its a criminal offence to sell it
Basically they have secured the the debt against your car if the debts not paid then the car is removed and sold to pay the bailiff fees and a portion / all of the outstanding debtI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

Can't remember. Got rid of any paperwork that was posted though door and never heard from them again. They can levy on a car on the drive; perfectly legal. You do not need to sign for it. And they can charge you extra fees for the privilege.

They are welcome to remove it. The local scrappies keep offering me money to take it away. It has no tax, no mot and is only worth scrap. I want it gone and the bailiff is not taking it so why can't I charge storage. The tax ran out 3 years ago and it's been there ever since. What can I do?hallowitch wrote: »If the bailiff left you a notice of seizure of goods and inventory listing your car then this means the bailiff has a levy on your car he has took walking possession (no you cant charge him for storage)

If the car had no value at the time of the levy then it should not have been levied the levy was only done to gain more fees
If you have had no correspondence from the bailiff regarding the debt /levy for a long time then you can get rid as the bailiff would appear to have abandoned the levyI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

They'll do it again this year. They do it every year. The council seem to think that I am an owner of a HMO. I am on full housing benefit yet I don't for some reason get council tax benefit as I rent rooms out to people on an occasional basis earning a small amount to pay the difference between the housing benefit rate and the actual rent. They want me to pay it yet I have no spare money to pay it. The rent I receive from lodgers is used to pay the excess rent on my house over the LHA rate. They refuse to withdraw the council tax bills but every year I enter into correspondence with the council once the debt has returned to them and they give up chasing as I have no money to pay the bill. It's a silly circle that we are in. I am now 8 years in arrears with council tax and should be entitled to council tax benefit.hallowitch wrote: »If the car had no value at the time of the levy then it should not have been levied the levy was only done to gain more fees

After what period of time does the levy get abandoned?:footie:

That is a pity, because you might well be able to reduce the debt by challenging the fees that were added. They are welcome to remove it. The local scrappies keep offering me money to take it away. It has no tax, no mot and is only worth scrap. I want it gone and the bailiff is not taking it so why can't I charge storage. The tax ran out 3 years ago and it's been there ever since. Pay of the money you actually owe and then sell the car to the scrappie. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
