Your a newbie, give it a chance. Some newbies have loads of luck, others don't. I was the newbie that didn't. I did win some lovely things last year including an iPad, but nothing amazing like some. This year has been appalling, I have taken several breaks as have got fed up.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

Just to throw my tuppence worth in (as controversial as it may be) smiley-scared004.gif

I've noticed over the past few months that a lot of people don't register with MSE and therefore don't 'thank' OP's for posting competitions. They register when they want to post in IWIW saying what they had won but gave no thought to registering previously. You can see what posts are thanked from a persons profile.

Please don't think I'm having a go at the OP for this post or any of those that followed but be nice to others and perhaps nice things will start happening to you!

    Good luck!

I'll prepare for the backlash now although I've always been one to speak my mind, I don't mean to offend anyone

I haven't won anything since starting last August. :)

And I thank every OP of the comp I enter, even if I originally found the comp myself or on FB. ;)

youve got to be in it to win it, you have as much chance of winning as anyone else who enters

but if you dont enter one thing is for sure, you wont win!

comping for me is a hobby, i love wondering what if, i love checking my emails in case theres a youve won one, i love thinking that when the postie brings a package it could be something big

i started comping last feb so im still quite new compared to a lot of people and in that time ive won 153 things, some as little as a mascara, some as big as a camera, ive only won about 5 big ish things (camera, jacket, £50, £50 itunes voucher and football tickets) in that time, the rest have been small things like a book or a dvd but to me a win is a win regardless

it works out ive won about 2.3 things a week since i started which IMO is not bad

some people are just luckier than others but dont give up, you have just as much chance as the next person

Although I am still very new, and haven't had many wins (2 small wins) what gets me through and keeps me hoping is that quite a lot of the competitions I enter will still be open, so the post man couldn't possibly deliver the prize to me because I haven't won it yet :D
After all I am pretty sure I have entered quite a few that won't even end for a few months, keeps me believing the wins are still possible but you have to be in it to win it no matter how disheartening it is not to win. On the other hand if you want it as a hobby, you have to enjoy it...

Due to illness, my days of comping has to vary and, sometimes I have needed a break, which means I always come back with renewed positivity.

After my last break, I returned to comping and, within days, the elusive ITV win fell into my lap, so, with that in mind, I wish you all the comping luck when you do return to entering competitions, OP :)

When I first started comping properly about three years ago and I entered loads I naively thought the prizes would come rolling in. Needless to say it took a while for my first win to come through.
