Off to work soon. Boss and line manager both off for rest of week, but certain things have happened that work is not a happy ship. If anyone wants to learnhow to demotivate a work force i could sadly give some very good case studies :(

    Hi Guys!

I feel so shattered this morning. Nurses were in at 7am but feel I could go back to sleep.

As HH said, we managed to get all our money back from the rogue car we bought, which is excellent news!

Hope everyone is well. Im resting up today and OH is hopefully looking at another car.

Could you not just "down tools " and quote "elfandsafety!" Surely with the extra machines etc you must be due an inspection (hint).

So pleased you got the car money back. Before committing yourseves to a new car would it be worth asking advice and recommendations from the motoring part of the forum as they were so helpful before?

Made boiled egg and toast for me and DH once dds had gone off to work, sixth form and work. Having a cuppa and browsing on here for an hour while dish washer is on then bustling around kitchen looking busy for when youngest gets home around 10 a.m..

Have yesterday's lasagne as I made a huge tray full and might freeze a couple of portions for another day and still have some for lunch. There is vegetable cous cous if dd fancies it for lunch and other dd has taken some to work. Got YS oriental stir fry yesterday and might add diced chicken, noodles, extra veg and stir fry sauce to it for tonight. Also got half price beef brisket which DH loves so put it in freezer last night to have for a Sunday lunch.

Quite fancy making apple crumble later or maybe little cakes .

Lovely to see a bit of blue sky as it has been so wet and miserable. Can't wait to be able to sit out in the garden and dds can't wait to be able to use the garden table and chairs to eat their meals.

    Hugs to all

tru god poor cassie :( can you put a piece of horizontal fence along the bottom to stop cracks?

Morning all. I'm up quite late and behind on my to-do list as I was up late last night thinking about... money! I'm trying to work out how much our gas will be, how low can I get the food shop, OH is looking for a better car insurance deal etc.
Today I'm mostly just doing uni work, also want a go at making Empanadas from the vegan lunch thread. Seems like they could be a good cheap lunch.

    Morning all,

up late again today but ive managed to catch up with the jobs i couldnt do over the bank holiday weekend. Ive just stripped the beds and can rest when ive cleaned the kitchen floor.

My youngest has another interview at college today for the placement he is hoping he is going to do in September. He has got to sit a series of maths tests to see if he will cope with the maths involved. He has sat his GCSE's with top grades but the course he wants to go on will be touching on A level maths. Luckily he gets his brains from his Dad (and his heart from me).

Living out of the freezer at the moment. Must fit in the shopping at some point.

    Hi all

Marie (((HUGS))) oh dear, the Universe really seems to be beating you up of late, doesn't it?

Hoping Essex Boy:D gets on OK with the Fang Farrier - I had part of my jawbone taken away in the early 1980's but it was quite a big chunk, so was in hosp for a week! Had the jaw actually broken, both sides - nowt but liquid food for three months - hopefully his treatment will be a lot simpler than that.

A bit soggy outside again today, but at least it's not larraping down, so we should get Dylan walked with nothing worse than wet paws.;)

He's going home tomorrow at 10:00:( so I must do his postcard home later on.

No more doglets booked in then til Sidny's visit, in mid-June.:(

  • Afternoon OS'ers!

Very naughty girl last night and didnt do anything. At All!

When i say nothing of course, i did watch my Grey's Anatomy dvd's and managed to watch 6 episodes in a row. Very late night for the JWAH h/hold hence today was later into work than i normally like to be. :(

Hung up my new Jubilee Hanging baskets when I got home and gave them a good watering. Hope I dont kill them!

Tonight I'm off to mums to pick up my ironing that she kindly did for me when I was at work last Sat. She's just arrived in Ibiza for a weeks hols with my dad - they're both 65, am hoping they're not on the clubbing part of the isle!

Trying to work out how we will cope on virtually nothing for the next 9 days as hubby doesnt get paid till 19th. Gotta do some baking me thinks and just get on with it.

Tea is toad-in-th'ole tonight and I shall put a beef casserole in the SC overnight which will b lovely tomorrow night with dumplings :D

Have a lovely afternoon, and blessings to all

    Afternoon All
    Welcome Newbies
Still grey and raining here I am so fed up now, it is just so draining.
I have washing on airers everywhere :eek:when all I want to do is hang it on the line, if we get any respite I will just stick the airers in the back garden so if it rains I just have to lift them back in the house.
Not happy, we have diggers outside and they have ripped up our front verge and it looks like they are going to dig into the front of our drive, they have damaged the fence already  and the way that they have repaired the road and pavement were they were working yesterday is a disgrace. I am phoning the council later to see why we were not informed and to ask for an inspector to look at the state the contractors have left the pavement in, because if they don't leave the front of my drive in a decent order there will be trouble.

Marie (((((Hugs))))) such rotten luck you have been having lately x

JWAH Try to build up a stock cupboard, stock things that you will be able to live off for at least a month, include things like toiletries, toilet paper etc then at least you won't have the stress of thinking about the next meal. I have a three month stock cupboard, because we have had to live with late pay/redundancy/change of job too many times and have always managed because we had our back up, you only need buy a few extra bits a week, it soon builds up.

    Hi everyone.

After a hectic few days I've at last got a few minutes to catch up here. I've done a lightning dash through the last few days' posts and can't remember anything. So commiserations to all who are having a grim time.

Tru: Poor Cassie. She needs some sweetcorn for the shock. We gave ours some once when they were frightened by next door's cat while sitting on their roost at our sitting room window watching TV. Don't ask! Anyway, they never forgot it and spent hours thereafter sitting on the roost looking hopefully for the cat so they could be frightened again.:D

Thanks for all of your messages about the rev. The crutches are still on the back seat of the car, the anti-inflammatories have done their work and she is trotting about quite happily again. She is seeing an employment solicitor about the bullying that has been going on. It's a funny situation, as far as the church is concerned she is self-employed when it suits them, otherwise she is employed by God. You couldn't make it up could you? However, she has been greatly heartened by dozens of visits, emails, phone calls, letters and cards all offering her support and wanting to write to the authorities to complain about her treatment. Hopefully the Bully-in-Chief will have bitten himself on the behind.:mad:

OS? Well I have cooked for England - not for us but for DS and family, the drop-in and the Spring Fair. Have managed to salvage enough to feed us for 2 or 3 days, so today we have the remains of a beef casserole, the remains of a cauli/broccoli cheese with some new potatoes and peas and the remains of a rhubarb crumble.

I made a loaf yesterday with some new flour and it came out a bit peculiar. Does anyone else find that the brand of flour affects the quality of the bread? My favourite is Dove so far but I can't remember where I got it.

Looking at my garden fills me with despair. I've hardly any time to see to it even when I can get on to it. We've gone from concrete to bog over night and I haven't even got my potatoes in, or even prepared the ground and my pots are still waiting to be cleared up from last year and my flower beds are choked with weeds. I may even have to pay someone to come in and help. SHOCK! HORROR!:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I need coffee - industrial strength.
I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.

BB I'd take some pics of the state of the road/verge, damage the men have done etc, if I were you, so that you have graphic evidence if they try to cover up for themselves.

Monnagran sorry to hear the Rev's having such a tough time - would posi-vibes from a non-Christian be acceptable?:o

Tru posi-clucky-vibes on way for Cassie.:o
