carphone warehouse have lost my mobile phone

number...what can i do. my contract ran out at the beginning of last year and all i wanted was a chip to be sent to me to be put on a pay as you go along. this never happened after countless letters. i was in between countries so not that straightforward to just walk into shop. also didn't always understand what i was supposed to do . anyway apparently they gave the number back to T mobile (who were my first provider before the current one Vodafone). i have spoken to them seeing as with carphone warehouse are a complete waste of time and they say old numbers they get back they destroy. what should i do now? go to offcom? this was a work line too? not only this it caused me lots of stress and time and lost work and i think it was also the cause of some of the problems i have had with a letting agency who have taken me to court (saying i was not in touch). i am at the moment trying to get rid of this CCJ too. if anyone has any ideas what i can now do i would be most grateful:
1) would like to get my number back (have had it since i first got a mobile phone when they were first around!!!)
2) can i claim any compensation (have so much paperwork dont know where to start!).

thanks in advance. maybe this could help others too with compensation claims if we come up with anything.

what about putting a list of companies/inland revenue etc that have messed consumers around and give examples of any compensation people have managed to get back.
