I suppose I could. I don't trust the boy to put aside money for himself. But another part of me thinks he's a adult and he's going to have to learn to do it one day.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I don't see why you should be subsidising his eating. Would it be possible to have less ready to eat food available and then, when he asks if there are any crisps or bread or whatever, pretend that you forgot or didn't have time to shop and suggest he takes himself off to the shops and buys some himself? Might be a bit inconvenient for you for a while, but then may be the penny will drop as he discovers how much stuff costs.0

I buy cereal for him, he eats the bread I make for lunch, and I cook him dinner, but stuff like sweets and beer, he buys himself.
We have a rule in our house where treats should be bought by the individual (this includes me and bf, we don't buy alcohol and treats from the joint account, but out of our personal money). Having said that, he does take a fancy to our treats sometimes and needs to be told to bog off.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
